Are these places available for walk up? I was unable to find any details.
That’s all I know. The website doesn’t even show their RDU partnership mentioned in the newsletter. Wait and see I guess…
I would have just told the Karens at the bank to shove it.
This could go in a couple of different threads but given our desire to see Fayetteville St resurrected, I think this is interesting. Not going to bring a lot of traffic, but probably better than the various temp businesses that have existed here.

They’re trying to open by the end of the month.
Insurrectionist campaign headquarters transformed into insurrectionist social club
hold up… does that say "Become a member ($100/month) ???
Make it $1000/mo. and I’ll consider joining.
Agree. I’ve been contemplating if I want to rub shoulders with the type of people that would pay $100/mo for a membership.
/sarcasm
To quote Groucho Marx’s “I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.”
I would just want to know it’s “worth it*” before having to pay the membership fee. Nothing about the types of programming they aim to host seem particularly interesting or uncommon.
Good for them for trying something…“different” though. Raleigh can always use more options for folks. Just because I probably wouldn’t entertain that type of “exclusive” bar/club doesn’t mean there aren’t others out there who would.
If the $100 monthly membership fee was essentially a prepaid fee that you got back in services & goods by participating, it might be worth it to me.
It’s just a fee to keep out the riffraff like me. Totally worth it
Well, it will keep me out as well. There’s nothing worse than hanging out with people who hang out with people who want to feel exclusive.
It sounds like a new, maybe slightly less snooty version of the Capitol Club and Cardinal Club to me. I had friends who were members of those at one time. They invited us to a few events, like wine tastings. You can get your money’s worth out of it if you’re into that sort of thing, but it wasn’t for me.
Yeah - more of a way to pool money together with like-minded people to have consistent, hopefully fun and interesting events in a nice space. A monthly fee doesn’t have to mean exclusion, particularly at that price point.
Picking up this conversation re: Kimbrell’s on this thread.
I think Kimbrell’s would be a great space for micro shops especially given it’s open on both Salisbury and Fayetteville. There’s a challenge getting retailers in the large existing spaces on Fayetteville, but a large space divided up for 10-20 smaller retailers gives them a chance and activates the space and street(s).
Yo, BIG YES from me. My dream is to open a lil shop in Raleigh but I’d only need like 500 sq ft or less. Most vacant retail spaces are MINIMUM 1000 sq ft, most are way more. I would LOVE a “mini-mall” style retailer space there!
I think Kimbrell’s is a great redevelopment opportunity.
There is this place in the old Steinmart in Cary that might work here. There are hundreds of vendors in there selling local crafts, art, etc.
I like this idea, and I’d love it even more of it could be made in the arcade style if it’s big enough.
I know it’s wishful thinking, but I’ve always wished downtown had something like Grove Arcade in Asheville.
