First Citizens Bank in downtown Raleigh

Ahhh yes, that was always a mystery when I was at Carroll. But I do recall, FCB had some pretty expansive plans for a “campus” once North Hills was finished, and this building was supposed to be torn down. It called for a building to go in the parking lot behind the ugly circular building, but I forget the height.

Someone else may have a better memory.

I like the circular building! Has a somewhat calm English vibe to I find pleasant.

It’s also easier to defend against invaders, with views in all directions.

especially the part where it’s encircled by surface lot parking and a drive-thru. :smirk:

Literally… Google Maps

They need to fill that with water and crocodiles.

Sounds like that might almost qualify as a fountain. :fountain:

It’s been empty for nearly a decade, the bank is waiting for the best opportunity to sell the property but might redevelop the land if they need to expand. I doubt the latter will happen.

I’m sure Kane would love to gobble up that property to expand his NH empire, once he builds out the innovation district.
