Confirmed just a trial thing per a City email this morning. The study is still ongoing.

Another Iron Works tenant has been announced.

Amelia’s Flowers, florist (edit: not a plant shop)
And
Urban Pothos, plant shop

They must have seen my reply in the chat about Logan’s in the Seaboard Station thread. Should be a great addition!

On the topic of RIW, been noticing a lot of groundwork activity around the future Salvage Yards. A lot of dirt being dug, especially outside the former Big Boss site. Would think that tenants will be moving out of the building closest to Atlantic (but that’s just speculation). Hopefully indicating a quick switch once work is done in the main Iron Works.

Interesting. As Urban Pothos also announced they’re opening up their 2nd shop in RIW? Wonder if it’s a collab?

I hope so! That would make a lot more sense than having directly competing retailers in the same (brand new) development. If I were the leasing agent, I wouldn’t want to risk one of 2 new businesses I’ve leased to potentially failing due to the direct competition I also leased.

I read that as florist , plant shop.
As in, Amelia’s is the florist - Nashville based.
Urban Pothos, plant shop, from here - opening another location…
Maybe it is a collab…?

Looks like I just misinterpreted the TBJ headline. Im not a subscriber so just assumed it was a single business. Found a non paywalled article that says it is indeed two businesses, plant shop Urban Pothos and florist Amelia’s Flowers. Sorry for the confusion everyone!

Here’s a link to the non-paywall article. Not kuch info but say these two businesses and Beatniks are expecting to be open by October 19.

Only Avatar will be shown from now on.

There is a City Council meeting tonight regarding Case: Z-50-21, the proposed mixed use project at the end of Roanoke Park. The naysayers are up in arms trying to fight this project & I am sure the ‘vocal minority’ will show up en masse for this event. If anyone supports this project you should show up in support. This is exactly the kind of ‘infill’ project we want. It is NOT some giant high-rise & it takes a dumpy underutilized buildings. The project should not create a huge traffic issue even though it is residential. Yes, there are people that will be driving in & out of the parking deck…BUT people already drive ‘in & out’ of the neighborhood all day, every day!!

Same as it ever was.

Update? Could they seriously kill this project?

Apparently it was deferred to November to ‘address neighbor concerns’. I live in 5 Points. 98% of the neighbors completely support this project but have jobs & other important stuff to do with their lives than invest 2 hours going to a City Council meeting that is only going to be pushed out a month.

So the loud 2% will show up & do everything they can to railroad this project.

What are the concerns?

If only there was a way to capture the feelings of the 98% on paper and then get those neighbors to sign it, and then have just 1 person show up to the meeting to deliver it.
