Five Points, East End Market, & Raleigh Iron Works

I do the "tisk tisk’ and wave my pointer finger. It’s unbelievably condescending.

The most recent Raleigh Magazine newsletter that went out today had this:

The brewer behemoth’s eighth outpost is slated to tap the keg on its highly anticipated dual taproom and restaurant early 2026 after breaking ground as soon as early this year.

Sounds like TRC is close to opening, the primary hurdle is the parking situation for the building. Very excited about this opening.

Giorgios Epicurean Market is open on weekends now so we checked it out. Giorgios himself was there too. Great place, wide variety of interesting items despite not being a huge space. Found a cookbook, some beluga lentils, jamon iberico chips, fancy gummy bears, gruyere bread sticks, and Italian wine for ourselves. I think as they get going, they’re going to have a lot more meat and cheese options, prepared foods, etc. For now, they had a decent selection and I had some roman dumplings and a cocktail. Everyone was very friendly, and the place looks very nice and inviting. Unfortunately I only took this picture of our drinks.

Got a sneak peek at the Little Rey’s taco place coming soon to Iron Works.

The Triangle Rock Club Salvage Yard location is pretty much complete and ready to open. They’ve been giving tours to members for the last few weeks. Its very big and very nice.

Word is they cant open right now due to the site developer being behind schedule. Theres still a lot of site work going on all around it, and they do not currently have a parking lot or paved street leading to the parking lot. At least they didnt last time i walked over there like 2 weeks ago. From what Im hearing they expect to open by the end of the year.

This is kind of old news and may have already been mentioned, sorry if its a repeat.

I read a similar update. Didn’t realize they were touring the facilities already. I’ve been eager for them to open since it’ll be the nicest gym within biking distance to me

That makes sense. I honestly have no idea what has been going on with the property over there. They’ve been digging and messing around with concrete for like 2 years and it still looks like a nowhere near complete mess with the same ugly white old buildings. Meanwhile the TRC building looks done except for the lack of any actual parking.

NoCo Beverage reports more exterior progress, i.e. less mud

Always fun to see a reminder of just how young of a city Raleigh is

Cool pic.

Oh what could have been if cities all across the country upgraded their street car networks, instead of ripping them all out.

Shame that the move is cannibalizing downtown. Hopefully they just needed more space or something

This isn’t the downtown part of Glenwood. It’s closer to the Beltline.

Also is that long 1-story building on this plot an ABC office? Is the state selling it?
