Does this include their short term bookings? They list on booking.com.
They are on Airbnb too, the landlords typically partner with a short term rental operator and split profits on the furnished rentals. Lenders only allow a certain number of units in the building, like 10 or so. Some 3rd party company’s that do this include HelloLanding.com and Kasa.com
Friend of mine lives in the little apartments on Sunrise, in the middle of the block between Sunrise and Bickett. They have been sold, and sounds like folks are moving out August/September. So I’d expect some new townhouses or multifamily to be going up there soon. Curious to see if they go that route or try to cram a few big houses in there instead.
east end market is crossing the street with songbird - mixologists behind umbrella dry bar (this time going wet) and chef behind longleaf swine.
taking flight in june apparently

This was rumored earlier in the thread but sounds like it’s gonna happen for sure. Any idea how many apartments are currently there? Seems like 4-6 but have never gone in there. Looks like the project calls for 11 townhomes and 1 SFH but that lot is so massive I’d thought they could do bigger.
here?
I think its six, two on each end and two in the middle.
Edit: Looked up the property and looks like it is six. Also, seems like it wasnt sold and is being developed by the current owners? Im no expert at reading property documents but this is a weird piece of property with an unusual history of ownership. Doesn’t really matter, just found it interesting.
The gallery at the intersection of Five Points is closing due to the owner retiring: https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article314891300.html
That’s a great space, so hopefully something good takes its place.
Could totally be a legitimately great art gallery (like a modern art viewing gallery as opposed to art/decor store) with a stellar rooftop bar.
But it’s in Five Points so it will probably become something stupid that will also close in 15 months.
I remember watching the rehab on this building and hoping it would be a restaurant and/or bar. They did a great job on the reno. Hopefully something great comes in
Per Reddit, Jaguar Bolera is permanently closed.
Oh wow damn. That was fast. We just went a couple months ago too.
Confirmed, there’s a sign on the door that says it’s due to unforeseen circumstances .
The place was awesome in my opinion. It was terribly marketed / managed.
This is really too bad. It was an interesting concept. We went a few times and enjoyed it, we meant to go more. Hopefully, something else good will take over that space, which is quite large.
Went onetime for a friend’s birthday and only one of the bowling lanes were working. Never went back.
I always read “unforeseen circumstances” to mean the owners had a personal issue come up and had to change their life quickly. Hope all is ok (I’m assuming here) but these things happen.
I’ll just be taking a nap in my armchair now. ![]()
I read “unforeseen circumstances” as “we’ve been seeing this coming behind closed doors for a long time now and kicked the can all the way to the end of the road and now we’re totally screwed” - as was exactly the case with this place, it appears.
While the business ultimately failed for whatever reasons, the concept was certainly unique compared to the standard TV-centric bars. Maybe it had a bit too much going on for it to realistically succeed. Still, I hope businesses in Raleigh continue to pursue bold, unique ideas instead of passing them by.
Who knows if it’s real or rumors but I saw a reddit comment that said they were nearly 800k behind on rent, hadn’t paid vendors in months, and were behind 15k on electricity bills… seems like they’d have shut down earlier if that’s the case, but ![]()
EDIT: someone also said they were being bought and will reopen under new ownership.
