I just gotta say I’m such a big fan of that Bow Truss Building. It’s so simple, but the roof just makes it different from all the typical boxes we see nowadays.

Apparently Big Boss is closing its doors August 28th with no current relocation in place!!! What was going on with the industrial park they’re in currently, it’s being rezoned/redeveloped, right? Anyone have a link for that?

Permitting for the renovation of that group of 3 warehouses was applied for on 8/1.

They posted something about a farewell potluck but then deleted it. Kind of figured this would happen sooner or later. Not sure why they wouldn’t just move, but I’ve already made my thoughts on their mediocre beer known, so I won’t lose sleep over it. That being said, it was the first Raleigh brewery I ever went to, the first run club I ever went to, and I used to live walking distance from them. So I definitely feel a little sad and nostalgic.

I went there a lot back when they had $1 beer tours. They discontinued the discount and I never returned. Yes their beer was rather mid, but I am nostalgic as well since they were one of the earlier ones.

New announcement on Instagram as of a few minutes ago. Looks like Big Boss is moving, not closing.
Edit: worth noting that they need to clear out their inventory prior to the move, so they’re doing $3 drafts…
