Oh nice, they got the mural up! Not the most earth shattering design, but I’m really happy they did it. Fits with the theme too.

I had to zoom in to make sure that wasn’t seafoam green. LOL.

Is that not what is already under construction?

That site plan is the blue area circled below. The red area circled is already under construction.

Thanks for the clarification!! 12 stories there, wowza. You will have great views from those upper floors since that intersection is something of a high point.

My gosh - I am totally out of it this afternoon. Thanks for your correction @Daniel I must be in a sugar coma after that peach and blueberry cobbler with the sugar cookie crust I had at lunch.

These Budleigh renderings are incredible. They’re going all out on quality traditional architecture. This building goes into the NW corner of the lot map below.

The original Raleigh city plan by William Christmas was certainly not shit bones. Even as late as the early 1900’s Fayetteville Street had a European feel with some of the older buildings still standing. Urban renewal in the 60’s saw many of those gems destroyed. In a perfect world Raleigh would learn to blend the old with the new to maintain the essence of original Raleigh.

Mural appears to be complete now:

I like the DTR skyline features. Sorry for the poor angle. Maybe one day the walking infrastructure in this area will be better and someone can get a better view from across the street.

I took some pictures too!

Andia’s ice cream is looking fairly close to opening.

Scott Crawford’s new place, which I’m incredibly excited for, has done nothing yet.

And Ponysaurus is coming along. Floors, piping, and cooler room all have progress.

There is a last ditch effort by the NIMBYs to kill the project at the end of Roanoke Park. I live in 5 Points & am fully in support of this project. It exactly what the City needs but some of the "Livable Raleigh’ contingent I assume is attempting to overwhelm the Planning Commission with Negative Nellie “its going to cast a shadow!!” nonsense.

Time for a counter- initiative!!

Please email the Planning Commission in favor of this project: Planning.Commission@raleighnc.gov

That slide is kind of dangerous and I can’t see it staying open for long. I went down twice and was left with burn marks and blisters from where my skin touched the slide while going down. It’s fast!

Yikes, yeah that’s not good at all.
