Nice to see they are using Advent Blue for their lights. I trust they will change to red & green once Christmastide actually arrives.
Though from the previous picture, I guess they are cycling through colors - at least red and blue.
Blue can also be used for Hannukah, which overlaps Christmas this year.
Wow. Thanks for the photos. I canāt wait to get back to Raleigh during the holidays to see the new building (and all the many other changes Downtown).
Yes this crown changes colors about every 10 seconds. White, blue, red, green
Am I alone in that I am NOT a fan of building crowns that change color like one of those cheesy light-up toys you get at the dollar store? Much prefer stagnant lights (i.e. PNC, BB&T) , or if they change, I like when they only change day-to-day (SECU, SkyHouse, sometimes One Glenwood, but Iāve also seen it transitioning colors every few seconds and itās just CHEESY).
I figured they were just cycling through here at the opening to show what it could do. I think they will probably switch to just one setting at a time after awhile
Itās not important in the grand scheme of things, but Iām hoping they coordinate with the other buildings for seasonal lighting motifs.
Music & changing lights on DTR buildings, and weāll have a fantastic holiday light show!
Iām Happy that they finish with FNB, would love to see wilmington st. and s.saulsbury st. get worked on as well, not just fayetteville st.
Why donāt these buildings have the full 16 million colors?
exactly what I was thinking. I dont know of a town that does this. How awesome for a special occasion, Christmas eve or New Years, or just ever night leading to Christmas.
One step further, I want all downtown buildings with light features to shine RED for every Canes home game. Some of them do, but thereās so many more that could join in. Charlotte does this with Panthers games, and the all blue skyline looks so cool.
Or NCSU gamesā¦
PNC did it a few years back last time they made the playoffs. Sadly, I donāt think any of the other buildings could match the blue correctly since they dontā have the full RGB spectrum apparently.
We donāt need blue, we need Red. Our team is the Canes.
I was referring to the panthers blue. Just saying PNC lit up for the panthers a few years back.
I get that, and I like that Panthers are Carolinaās team just as the Canes are⦠but Iād rather take more pride in the team that is actually here within our city! Let Charlotte light up blue for Panths, Raleigh Red for Canes. I do remember PNC lit up blue for Panths when they were in the Superbowl, which I was alllllll for.
I thought Charlotte (or at least BOA tower) lit up red to support the canes last season when they made the ECF? Maybe Iām not remembering that correctly.
