Muskrats vs Nutria…let the battle begin…!
Not glenwood, but I remember I was in London in the middle of the night and spotted a fox running around over by the Liverpool St station. Scared me to death.
I’ve seen multiple foxes in various areas near the warehouse district. Also, raccoons, many groundhogs, hawks, and bats near the Platform project. A raccoon actually surprised my dog and me by popping out of a storm drain near Boxcar one evening.
The most embarrassing thing about this song is that they performed it for the Queen and Henry Kissinger.
could it be a muskrat?
Not sure about the future but someone’s on pause presently

This sales price seems awfully high. Is this part of a redevelopment play? Does anyone know?
Yes, it’s correct. According to Wake County tax office.

Don’t think I’ve see this one anywhere yet. Looks like the Cortez people are opening up a cocktail place on Glenwood. Doesn’t say exactly where but is taking over an ‘unused office space.’ Hopes to have a balcony too. I would imagine, if it’s anything like their food, this place will crush it.

Gonna be upstairs above Cortez…
That’s what I was assuming but didn’t see that in the article.
From their socials :
"Friends, meet our brand new addition coming to the second floor of the Cortez.

A new cocktail bar perched in the middle of Glenwood South.
Cuya will be your space for social gatherings, music discovery, cocktail sipping, and moving your feet to the sound of the beat.
We are five years to the date from when we first anchored down on Glenwood South. Thank you for supporting us through thick and thin so that we can set sail once more. Please follow, share, and join us on our new @cuyaraleigh journey."
I’m sure it’s gonna be a hit and delicious. They’ll have a prime view from the upstairs balcony of the Creamy construction for sure!
Sounds like a good spot for a future meetup. We can all take pictures for Pedro!
Good for them, but there are like 25 other bars on that street already lmao. Supposing the rhetorical question “does GWS really need ~another~ bar?” is irrelevant, I just find it hard to understand how they could possibly differentiate themselves from all the other establishments along that corridor…
Unless it’s gonna be another biker bar or something
A kava bar would be cool. Raleigh has one downtown currently (RaleighRaw) and will soon get a second (Krave, which has spots in Greensboro and Carrboro).
I think Cortez bucks the trend of GS a little. It’s classier and their cocktails are top notch. I’d go to their new cocktail bar but few other bars in GS appeal to me.
Agreed. I like High Garden/Botanical Lounge (one of the lesser douche-baggy places) otherwise I don’t really hit up GlenSo that often
Lol, I been in Raleigh since the late 80’s I remember when you couldn’t walk down Glenwood Ave, wasn’t Glenwood South then, full of paranormal activities and hoodlums at night the street was never packed but a few abandoned houses later became cornerstones and small offices, it odd because the Pine State Creamery was there also but, laughing out loud, its amazing what the street has become.I know my post is weird, but I’m serious this was a real broken industrial and rough residential street back in the day.
I lived in the brick apartments with the white columns on Willard from 2007 to 2012. It’s amazing how much it’s changed even in the last 10 years.
