Happy to see something go in there. Thank God it’s for the mature crowd of 23 year olds tho. I’ll fit right in
I had to laugh at the juxtaposition of 23 and mature when you have to be 21 to even get into bars.
I think it’s meant to weed out the 21-22 college party crowd. I actually checked out the soft opening, and surprisingly, it was a solid scene. The space is pretty cool—had a DJ, but the music wasn’t too loud, so you could actually talk with your friends. The age range stood out too—not your typical Glenwood South crowd. I’ll definitely be going back. It’s a nice escape from the usual frat bros and sorority girl crowd around Raleigh.
Oh nooo, not the last great dive on Glenwood.
Yes, the dive slide is on it’s way out. Or perhaps just to a new owner.
Some intel: the current property owner is selling, and has contacts with the Biz Journal so figured he could get some attention to it by going straight to them to announce the property up for sale - however, the owners of the Yacht Club are aware and, along with the owner of the adjacent properties, are currently trying to negotiate with the Yacht Club land owner to buy it (and presumably preserve the building/existing business for a while longer)

Construction fencing has gone up around the embargo food truck area. Could this project actually be getting started?!
You mean the one that was supposedly under construction on Peace and Glenwood?
My prediction is this project moves as fast as 615 Peace. Put up the fencing to show “progress” then do the minimum amount of work possible for the next 4 years
Wait what? 615 is done?
Just kidding. I live next door.
