Future of Glenwood South

“Dine Out Downtown” on Glenwood South - street closed from Jones to North for expanded dining
Should be pretty popular this Saturday…

I’m hoping they eventually build the decorative light poles similar to the remainder of intersections in Glenwood South. But it then makes you think, why go through the trouble of constructing the current wire hanging style if it wasn’t a dire emergency, or maybe a trial run to see its affect.
Here’s an example of Tucker and Glenwood.

Hoping for that too! And I’d really like to see the whole streetscape get a refresher too, like Fayetteville street did years ago.

It looks like Dine Out Downtown will close Glenwood Ave from Jones to North St. for outdoor seating this Saturday 11/7 from 11am to 9pm. It also includes a line-up for live music during the day.

I’ll give you the like but I got the scoop before your earlier post

Looks like the auto repair shop at Peace/Glenwood just sold. Plans for a total reno of the property, but keeping the current 3 story zoning.

Hey, 3 stories is more that the current 1 story garage! I’ll take it! Will hopefully include some ground floor retail to extend the Glenwood South pedestrian experience past the Peace St intersection!!!

And even if it doesn’t roll you can still drive it…Lol

Interesting… upon reading the article, they mention past ideas for the spot included Starbucks… imagine if they moved the Starbucks on Peace into this ground floor space, and then redeveloped the current Starbucks lots into a taller mixed use project! This could end up being a win-win!!!

I have been hoping that Starbucks moves into the ground floor of the new condo building at the corner of Peace and Boylan so that the Starbucks (aka former Pizza Hut) can be redeveloped. New neighbors for @John .

So bullish!
Crazy to me how many projects are pressing forward despite the increasing shutdowns… I’m not complaining!

3 stories on this location will make a huge difference because of the location. No objections from me. Plus this intersection could use a make over.

I may not drive it all that much, but it still needs to be inspected! My car is 21 years old and has 73,000 miles on it.

I just hit 70,000 miles. My car is 5 years old. :grimacing:

My car is 3.5 years old and I’m at 19,000. And the run rate is certainly decreasing.
