More cowbell! …………….
Maybe we can build @OakCityDylan’s gondola connecting the two.
should it be CowBellTacoBar? That certainly has a nice ring to it.
The next two food truck events are cancelled
.
In the triangle food blog it looks a wine/charcuterie bar is going to take over the NY Bagels space on Glenwood South.

I guess they missed the almost identical event last weekend of Brewgaloo. I was looking forward to this on Sunday too, just a missed opportunity for people already struggling.
Meanwhile 60,000 people sit shoulder to shoulder for hours inside Carter Finley stadium every other weekend.
That’s a good article. I’m mentioned in one of the stories!
Matt Kenner: AKA - Bunch of Fives Hospitality. The group behind Mofu, Southern Charred, Milk Bar, Anchor Bar and Dogwood Bar.
It’s like him and Niall Hanley are dividing up Glenwood South amongst themselves
Don’t forget the Cornerstone Tavern guy!
Ughhh can we though?
St Roch is reopening tomorrow after renovations.
Union Special open for bidness.
[Edit: aaaand that photo is worse than I thought. Maybe I go there for lunch today and take another]
Last Saturday, I stopped by Idle Hour Coffee for lunch (corner of Oberlin and Fairview) and spotted this sign up on a former State Farm insurance office at the end of this little retail strip. No clue what “Ritual” will be, but they are building out something in there!
Decent location I will stop by in a few minutes for coffee. Just wished that block was redeveloped and we can finally get rid of that service port/parking lot.
True enough. I feel Duke Energy may never let it go.
does this mean they’re closing the Gateway location?
No, they have a full-sized bakery at that location. The bakery at this location will only make things for this location due to it’s limited size.
Nope. Intent is to carry both locations. Slightly different cafe / food menu in the two spots.
Still cranking lots of wholesale bread outta Gateway plus the cafe…
@dtraleigh I was told that Union Special signed a 5+ year lease at the new spot on Fayetteville, so Duke clearly doesn’t intend to sell/redevelop this lot for a good while. I am hopeful that by the time they are ready to, Union Special’s downtown location will have enough of a client-base to move somewhere nearby successfully, and this plot will be so valuable that there will be no other option than to build a super-tall, dense mixed-use tower.
