You should’ve seen the garbage cans in the Rose Garden especially in the height of the pandemic. Full to the brim with wine bottles, craft beer, Truly’s etc. I definitely may or may not have tossed a couple in there myself after dinner. Should always have been legal in some of the bigger parks, I wonder if state and local leadership realized people were doing it anyway.
Where is this going?
By City Market forgot the last place that was here.
Where Riddle was. Beside DGX on Blount st.
Just saw on the DTR Alliance Instagram that Landmark Tavern is back open! I had heard a rumor a while back that they might not be reopening, so I’m glad to see them back.
I believe this has been covered a bit, but TBJ has a writeup on Zenith, which is opening in the former Coglin’s space in early October: https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2021/09/14/nightlife-venue-replaces-coglins-bar-raleigh.html
I’ve had a chance to take a peek around inside; it’s made with a lot of love and folks who enjoyed going there before are going to feel immediately comfortable in the spot.
Also, first post! Long-time listener, first-time caller. Raleighite since '08, moved DTR in 2019.
“more pop-culture themed across different eras”. This line is what got me excited.
Saw this and think this could be interesting. Sounds like they’ll have a full bar too.
This is easily one of the better offerings at Morgan St. Food Hall, and simply one of the best burgers I’ve had in Raleigh in general. Funny that North Hills will now have CowFISH and CowBURGER. I want a CowTACO next.
Throw in some Cow Banh Mi while you’re at it…
Just rename BarTaco to CowTaco.
I was gonna say- How about a combination CowBar, BarTaco, and Taco Bell and call it: CowBarTacoBell
CowTaco BarBell

Get a good pump in, then follow up with protein in form of burgers and tacos. Perfect.
Hoping for one of these to pop up in NH: Columbus rapper and producer opening new eatery FishBurger on southeast side – 614NOW
Looks like there is going to be a lot of beef between Midtown and Downtown moving forward…
I think we’re starting to see the knock-off effect on other districts in the area(s) between Downtown proper and North Hills area.
I’m sure the East End Market and Raleigh Iron Works had some influence on this but, 20 story requests are popping up in the ‘Iron District’ now. Who knows, maybe in another 10-15 years this will look like one continuous city stretching from Downtown all the way to North Hills?
That’s my hope. Now with the Walter topped out at North Hills, Raleigh is starting to look like an even worse version of Atlanta with two skylines MILES apart from each other.
But it’s still not as bad as that city Raleigh-Durham… Their two downtown areas aren’t even in the same county!
