Is this the specific post you are talking about? I’m not sure how this is anything negative towards PRs. This was a public policy stance they championed and also welcomed with an interview by WRAL. Now if they had mentioned something like rats in the kitchen or using fake meet, a secret they were trying to keep from the public, I could understand. PRs had one position, the Cardinal had another, which didn’t discriminate individuals based off their medical decisions.
Well the “smh” is more than a bit catty, but honestly they’re both fun places to eat and drink so I’m inclined to live and let live.
Not only that, but the Cardinal’s business IG account was used to negatively/sarcastically comment directly on one of PR’s posts regarding their policy, and then Cardinal got slammed by commenters, enough to where the Cardinal actually had to turn off comments on a few of their own posts because they were getting clowned for trying to talk sh*t to a much longer standing and beloved local business. THAT is 100% douchebag activity, IMO.
Deco is celebrating 10buears this week. They got a snazzy new sign for the occasion. Check em out this first Friday. (Note: not my photo)
I love the new sign!!!

Apparently someone called the police on Clyde Cooper’s because their smoked pork was pink. Even after the officer came and explained to them that it’s supposed to be, they still left a 1 star review online. And now Google shows a bunch more recent reviews making fun of that person.
Well, at least they’re getting clowned like they deserve to be
Ancillary Fermentation (started by folks from Bond Brothers in Cary) has opened their new tap room on Hardimont and Wake Forrest. I’m hoping to check it out this weekend.
Raleigh brewery Ancillary* Fermentation opens in a former bank branch - Axios Raleigh
Interesting spot, but fits almost perfect with their vibe already. I like how they kept most of the bank intact including the interior. I might check this out tomorrow after leaving the office, it’s on my way back downtown.
Hah, them and Vault are having a battle of banks.
Yeah I’m pretty excited about this one. It’s 1.3 miles from my house! A short bu hilly walk, which is good for burning off some of the calories.
What the hell are the hours though? I went by around 11PM last Friday when they opened and it was closed and abandoned, like didn’t even look like it was just closing up but had been closed … I’m gonna need them to be open a lil later on a damn weekend night, come on now!
Too bad that “Suggest new hours” link is only to Google and not to the owner…
I’d also like to check them out this weekend. Looks like it’s supposed to hit 80 (in November?!), so perfect beer drinking/exploring weather.
Popped by quickly Sunday. They had a food truck (Bo’s). Limited tap offering for start up it seemed, they had one AF beer for launch and a few others from other local breweries. Said the offering would be expanding soon. Pretty quirky spot, essentially repurposed the credit union creating vignettes of seating areas - left some old signage up, coupla TVs sprinkled around inside. Wish they’d converted the vault into something weird. The outdoor seating is open to the sun so it’ll be warm for the weekend temps.
Grabbing grub when Thai House is open should also be pretty easy…
This is pretty cool. The former head brewer from Coronado Brewing in San Diego (Mark Theisen) just came on board at R&D to oversee brewing operations.
Also interesting from the article is news that they’re planning an expansion (somewhere in Raleigh) into a new 30,000-plus-square-foot production facility with a taproom and outdoor beer garden.
Excellent news. I like their beer, and that huge new taproom is a welcome next step for them, but that stretch of Capital is just such a dead-zone/car-centric hell.
Checking out this place now. Thing I like about the location is I like being able to grab some AutoParts between beers.
They should team up and do some kind of a … beer and car themed promo event… they could call it a “Drink n Drive” event or… you know, on second thought…
Digging the interior. They also have some retro looking snacks like tinned lobster, sardines, etc with Lays chips.
