Buying a designer bag out of a shipping container sounds like a great way to catch a charge for receiving stolen goods

Here is the link to the article on WRAL in case people can’t see the TBJ article:

Tiffany & Co., luxury retail shops coming to Raleigh for pop-up event (wral.com)

I think this will be extremely popular, notwithstanding luxury goods sales are down generally. That address appears to be around the Exxon gas station, so assume they set up in that lot?

Nothing says luxury like buying shit from a shipping container next to the gas station.

I’ll buy my Gucci the way I always have, with ill-fitting knockoff T-shirts from the internet and sunglasses paid for by gift cards.

And yet if this was on Fayetteville Street or any empty lot in DTR, everyone would be happy about it and taking note that Raleigh is the first stop for this shopping experience…

The coffee shop next to the Acorn appears to be coming together:

Now if we could just get a coffee shop/bakery in Smoky Hollow (RIP JLights). I think La Farm there would be the dream.

I’ve got word that a coffee shop will likely be taking over J. Lights

Fount (location in Morrisville) would do well here I think.

@GucciLittlePig and I had a late lunch/early dinner at Yatai this afternoon. I really like the revamp of the space from Locals’ time there. Great drinks, good food. Definitely a solid option for Transfer Co. and we will be returning.

I walked through there for the last time the other day. They were only serving alcohol. Frankly, I was surprised that it was still open.

You must’ve missed my post saying they were open thru Sunday but stopped serving food after Oct 31.

or maybe I was ignoring your posts?

Same. Obv.

Alex from the Berkeley here. We apologize for the mixed messages on our final day.
Our contractor got the initial kitchen & hood tearout done in a single day and then had to move his crew to finish another job first. We decided to sweep up and open evenings (4pm) for drinks until we have to close for the final push. We’re still packing up during the day, so if you don’t mind a mess and a big pile of boxes, then stop by for a drink and a chat. We are running out of stuff, but we still have the basics on hand. There are usually some free snacks at the bar and the patio is also open.

Thanks to all for your support!! We truly appreciate it and hope to see you all when we reopen at 428 S Dawson early next year.
