But if you’re in Carrboro, you have access to Carrburritos, so what’s the point of AG then?

If Carrburrito’s is closed and none of the food trucks are around.

Agreed. With the Glenwood South welcoming more and more and more residents, We need additional options for quick eats at a reasonable price, not the elimination of them. While others may eschew chains, replacing this with a Moe’s, Chipotle, Five Guys, etc. would be my preference. If we wanted to keep it fast, affordable and local, a place like Guasaca would also be perfect. Unfortunately for this location, I think that both Moe’s and Guasaca are likely off the table since there are ones nearby in The Village District and Hillsborough St.

I would then suggest Chubby’s Tacos as a good replacement. It’s a local mini-chain, but definitely fit the right price point and food quality.

Gym Tacos would be another option.
There’s a small Florida chain that started in South Beach named Lime that would be great as well. https://limefreshmexicangrill.com/

Thier FB post you linked mentions looking for another space, which leads one to believe there was a rent increase (or perhaps redevelopment scheme) involved in the decision-making…

Just hoof it over to Chido and all will be good.

Well, since downtown is such a scary hellhole, I imagine they’ll be sitting on it waiting for a buyer for years, right?? And no other restaurant or business will dare setting up shop in their location, since it’s so BAD and also NOT GOOD downtown now, right?? lol

They’ve said the following:

there’s no draw for people to come downtown

Downtown does not have a positive, good feeling vibe anymore.

I can pay my bills, but I’m tired of the complaints, the negativity

We were vulnerable. My life was in jeopardy … we had no protection.

I’ve had many people ask me 'Why are you still here? Why don’t you move it?

I want it to be here 85 more years. I do not want people to struggle to come and eat with me – and that’s by parking, by harassment from people on the streets and from crime

By that logic, how the fuck do you think your place is worth $2.9 million? Additionally, they continue shitting on their own location on facebook:

2-6 PM is such an odd benchmark to use for desiring foot traffic. People are at work or coming home from work. Additionally, I rarely smell weed anywhere. If the smell of pot is everywhere, maybe you should smell your own clothes?

That’s the weirdest time benchmark I’ve ever seen. For a restaurant, it’s especially odd - it’s neither lunch nor dinner!

If she had good food and good hours then her restaurant could have been the positive draw that she thinks someone else should provide for her

This woman is so hateful and she made everything so political and dog-whistley, I never returned because of it. Just a hateful spirit it seems.

Bold Statement: She moves business outside of the beltline…& it ultimately closes

It’s still an odd benchmark. Very few restaurants are going to get business during those time periods. Them closing right before dinner starts (Sam Jones and Longleaf Swine both stay open until 9/10 PM) just leads more people to go to their competitors.

This is exactly what will happen.

I live outside the beltline, but I often drive downtown to eat and shop. She can move the restaurant to the burbs, but she won’t see me. Too many other 'cue options downtown.
Just my 2 cents. Please pass the hushpuppies, y’all!

With those hours, it makes we wonder if it is a front for some other type of business. LOL.

She can bitch all she wants…It’s competition that’s put a bright spotlight on that sub-par Que…
Move or no move, she might want to take a look at the product she’s dishing up with her side of commentary.
