Agreed - if “lack” of parking is a real reason they’re using for not doing the new store raffle for this one, then that’s ridiculous.
One of the other reasons mentioned in the post from the ABC board was that they haven’t yet received their allotted bourbon for the holidays and by the time they expect to receive it, they’ll be in the time period when the county-wide bourbon raffle will occur. So they’ve just opted to lump all the bottles into that holiday raffle that is done via a website and then bottles can be picked up at particular stores of choice by the winners.
The only time I pay for parking is when I have a biz hour meeting downtown, and I’m running late per usual, so I pull into a street spot and remember “oh yeah, gotta feed the meter“, and then proceed to have a frantic battle with the ridiculous credit card only meters where the buttons don’t depress and you have to hit “continue” at just the right times, or you go straight to parking meter jail.
Someone in my neighborhood chat said that Benchwarmers at Rockway opened today. Apparently doing 50% off from 8 am-4 pm for their soft opening today/tomorrow based on what their message said.
Honestly it’s because Benchwarmers gets so much PRAISE and adoration that I feel the need to go the complete opposite direction when it’s simply FINE for how much it costs lmao
I hear ya man, but the ham, baby pickle and butter sandwich… I have dreams of that. I guess I am more open to the cost since it really is only a 2 or 3x a year thing for me.
You can say that about 90%+ of the restaurants these days. Many are price inflated for what you get. When a simple lunch out without ordering a drink tops $20 including tax and tip, then it’s getting out of hand.
