Well I didn’t know they are still closed lol. But at least still better than the Taza place…agree though and it’s a shame, nice store
That’s awesome -
Did a staycation at Longleaf inn and dinner at Mulino last night. Mulino was slammed, but Longleaf had 8/52 rooms occupied. Longleaf was a tremendous value and we really felt like travelers for a night. Consider a staycation to help support Longleaf and other boutique hotels!
Went to Bowstring for lunch today. It’s a bar that serves pizza. $10 gets you a personal pan sized pie on a paper plate. They have 5 toppings at $1 each. It was fine but too expensive imo. Crust was thin and good but I believe the sauce is straight tomato paste. The space looks nice and there were tables outside under trees.
What if I told you Napoli pizza sauce is straight crushed tomatoes with no seasoning.
However, the tomatoes must be high quality and full of flavor which is something Americans struggle to make apparently.
Well, if you did tell me, I’d say I’ve loved the pizza in Naples the few times I’ve gone. Da Michele this ain’t. The point I failed to make in my first post is that if you think this is a pizza & beer place, you’re only technically correct. This is a bar that’s open during COVID because they have pizza. Small little $10 pizzas on paper plates. That’s my take and others are welcome to theirs. It looked like a cool place and if we didn’t have our 4 & 6 year olds we probably would have hung out.
Haha I’m planning on going to Long Leaf in a little bit with my friend from Durham. Great minds…
I’ve tried to go to Bowstring two Monday’s in a row. I’m not real encouraged to try again next week. Lol. They weren’t open either attempt for me.
LOL are they closed Mondays?
You research and tell me. I couldn’t find a damn thing about hours (including on the door).
A bit about CVS that I didn’t think about but makes a lot of sense when it comes to their hours. The CVS on Fayetteville Street had terrible hours because that one could not operate like a suburban location. Basically, since the pharmacy could not be locked up, they had to staff a pharmacist if the store is open which costs more. More costs mean they would only leave the store open during the hours that made most sense.
A suburban location can lock up the pharmacy and run the rest of the store independently where this one can’t. It’s as simple as that.
Personally I think a pharmacy should be placed in the FNB tower retail location. It’s new and clean and fits with the area and that area badly needs shops and services. That would all cause the dated shop front in the Oddfellow building to be renovated for something else.
Transfer back like the old days…But my easy parking in front of the building is becoming harder to secure with more people.
How many parking spots are allotted with your property? Two?
No assigned spaces. We have a one car garage but that’s it. I just park on the Chavis Way side where the front door is. Plenty of room there until recently now that things have picked up.
Odd. I have an empty parking spot in my apartment’s enclosed parking garage I’m not allowed to transfer to anyone else. Not even for my guest parking, too.
Interesting! I wonder if they plan to install a system to lock up the pharmacy during the repairs / before reopening?
Could also be a good use of 517 S Blount St, one block over.
Evening today seemed to be very active lots of people out for dinner in the western part of Downtown.
East Downtown Raleigh except for Transfer Co. is dead.
Flying Mayan seems to have closed down? It was not open at 7:30 PM.
This is a bit concerning I was hoping to lease by Moore Square now I may consider closer to the Warehouse District.
Also mask wearing is at an all time low.
The first photo is upside down. Can you flip it?
