That’s brilliant, wow thanks! I love this kind of info, this is the real purpose of this site! That’s awesome.
And that is a win win (and it makes sense). We need the nice establishments and we definitely need this! I think most people are waiting for something like this honestly, Saturday the place was buzzing. Places like this have a way to transform the neighborhood and bring business to everyone else, great to see them opening this type of place there.
Ahem…so um, do we have/can we start compiling a list of restaurants that are open with outdoor seating? I’m starting to warm up to eating/drinking at places again (sorry, not quite comfy with prolonged time indoors with throngs of the unmasked public yet. I still have some trust issues- alright? ). Definitely want to keep supporting local in ways other than take out though. Went to Transfer the other week- did indeed eat indoors b/c it was ungodly humid out, but only felt remotely comfortable because there was like 10 people inside during non-peak Thursday afternoon hours lol.
I’ve been super happy hanging out at Big Boss a few times since June though due to their outdoor space.
But it’s hard making dinner plans when dine “in” options are so hit or miss
That said, outdoor dining spaces are super variable, so you may want to scout ahead of time. There’s a restaurant that I won’t name that I walk by regularly that is not meeting the distance rule between patrons while seated. Though the tables might meet that spacing, once people are in the chairs they aren’t far enough apart. And once seated, no one wears masks. It’s hard to meet the masks/distance/time trifecta in that situation.
Wow, this is an amazing and incredibly helpful resource. There’s a surprising more amount of places open (with outdoor seating) than I thought. Thanks so much for the link!
Long story short, they’re going to let Oak City Cares handle the distribution of the free meal tokens rather than just allowing people to walk in off of the street and ask for a free meal. Since covid is a thing, the option to volunteer no longer exists. And families with children can still get a free meal without a token.
downtown was really on and popping tonight. i went to dinner at whiskey kitchen (hour wait), and passed by the warehouse district and glenwood south. all packed.
Went to Whiskey Kitchen for brunch today. Haven’t been in forever. Happy it wasn’t packed with people, but definitely had a nice bunch of socially distanced tables.
Currently at Standard Foods (coming soon) and Beer. The beer is good, the inside looks nice but kind of empty since there’s no diners. Wanted to avoid the crowds that probably will be here later. Got a nice table outside at one of the two outside seating areas. It feels like you’re sitting in Raleigh City Farm, which is great, and I love the “mural” too.
My neighborhood had a small (outdoor and distanced) lunch catered by A Place at the Table last month. The food was delicious and I highly recommend supporting this innovative concept in our community.
So I’m thinking about taking another shot at making a Raleigh BBQ map, potentially to pitch for marketing. I don’t eat out much—can anyone help compile a list of all the BBQ joints (existing and forthcoming) around?
it’s in a gas station on Six Forks Road but Chop Shop near Six Forks & Anderson is surprisingly pretty good (not the best BBQ I’ve ever had but pretty good for Raleigh standards)
