The 10 most expensive downtown Raleigh restaurants “As the holiday season ramps up, opportunities to come together with family and friends become more prevalent. And downtown Raleigh has an amalgamation of places at which to dine, if families and friends decide to gather outside of the home. And most of these establishments are offering robust takeout and curbside pick up options.” DTR Restaurants.pdf (97.1 KB)

Surely there’s something at Jolie that would qualify for this ranking?

Can’t speak for the Chop Shop 'cue but Gym Tacos is Legit…

Their tacos are beyond… I believe it’s been shared here but they are planning to open a brick’n’mortar on Hillsborough x Faircloth/Gorman, where the old Burger King was (then 3 other restaurants since)

Just saw that apparently Virgil’s is planning to open back up with a bit of rebranding. No timeline but it was announced a few days ago on their Facebook page.
Guess it might be a few months?

“It looks like we are going to have to wait a little longer for the renovations to be complete, and the opening of Sam Jones BBQ – blogger Eat Raleigh shared that their PR people had indicated that there had been construction delays at 502 W. Lenoir St., in the former Dusty’s Garage near Boylan Heights. No new opening date (was originally November) has been provided.”

(WRAL)

The real reason is because of @OakCityDylan’s move-in delay, obviously.

Here’s a (not great) progress shot from 10 minutes ago.

I think this was mentioned on the forum that Longleaf Swine was now going to the closed down Oakwood Cafe location but I couldn’t find anything. I was just rolling by so I snapped a pic.

WRAL Foodie news is reporting Gov’t Cheeseburger which is currently in Cary will change their name and location. Says they will re-brand as “Fine Folk” and begin serving out of the back of Foundation Bar. Their burgers are really good and it’s a nice replacement after Whalburgers and now B. Good have since left Fayetteville St.
Here is their menu https://www.finefolkraleigh.com/menu

I was excited Jose and Sons is reopening, and then realized it’s not downtown and is in some strip mall somewhere instead. Booo

That’s awesome - I was going to try Gov’t Cheeseburger last weekend but they closed before I could make it out there

Fine Folx indeed. Good burgers and funny banter. Should be a nice addition to Foundation…

last month on a long walk, I went by there and they had an outdoor tailgating tent set up for pick-up of pre-orders. If I remember correctly, they were only doing that a few days a week and for a limited amount of time.

Tony Coulter, co-owner of the Rockford (he and his husband purchased the Rockford in Jan this year) is opening two new concepts downtown next year.
Raleigh Mag Article

One, currently dubbed Gravity—though Coulter is still championing the name Gibby’s—is opening in the former Apero space in City Market. The other is a street level space in The Devon Four25 Apartments building on Boylan Avenue.

I’ll have to grab a pic of it. I thought it was funny. Says something like “Raleigh, NC”, right? Like you may forget where you are after eating our BBQ.

Yeah it is a little underwhelming… But I’ll take a underwhelming mural over no mural!

Anyone know what’s going on with the Subconscious spot? Looked like there was a little movement there recently. Hopefully not another hookah bar.
