What does Alpaca taste like? This should do better here than north Raleigh where tastes are most conventional. College students will eat anything.

This won’t exactly blow those college minds like having alpaca carpacchio or cuy in Cuzco, but…it’s pretty tasty and will do well here - perfect for the ole’iHop spot!

Money-printing machine.

IMO, it’s not quite as good a Mami Nora. However… it’s not that far removed and I can walk there and partake after a workout at the YMCA. I will definitely be a patron.

Oh yeah, speaking of those, Umami Asian Bistro has closed too. Sad.

It’s always been part of the same group, but the original was held onto by the founders. That said, there’s something about the original that just hits a bit better for me.

Just a reminder. This place is going to be absolutely MASSIVE. I am pleasantly surprised that they seem to be moving so rapidly from demolition to construction.

From Barnhill, the CM:

The project is scheduled to break ground Q4 ‘23 and be substantially complete within 31 months. This private student housing project boasts over 1M sf of building, 2,000 beds and 665 residential units. Potentially the LARGEST single phase multi-family project in Wake County history!

Imagine this but a 3rd of the footprint and 3x the height…

We can take a massive piece of property and cover it with hundreds and hundreds of living units in that location, but we can’t rotate that building 90 degrees and cover less land while providing the same number of units. Why not? “Shadows”. it’s ridiculous.

The amount of shenanigans that will take place here is hard to fathom. I think I may open a store across the street that only sells red cups.
