Any idea where it might have gone? Land fill already? I could definitely refit that hat.
The staircase won’t take the full depth of the unit and there would be enough space in the back of the unit to be the full width between a one car garage the end of the unit.
Where is the 4th bedroom? I’d love a townhouse downtown if it had 3 bedrooms that weren’t on the ground level.
Whoops. Originally was trying to squeeze 2 bedrooms on the 3rd level. So really it’s only up to 3 bedrooms.
Was such an odd shape to work with.
Thanks for that! Looks like you have some serious living space there! Nice.
We have 2140 sqft total, great deck out back and plenty of room (too much to be honest) for a family of 5. The biggest selling point for us (me) was the first floor master, eliminating the need to go up and down steps all the time. Plus the 7 minute walk to one shopping center and 15 minute walk to another was a bonus IMO. Though we are in suburban N Raleigh, we are lucky to have so much within an easy walk from our front door.
I grew up in a 2170 sf SFH in north Raleigh and we were a family of 6.
A Philadelphia trinity house is basically a one-room square. Here’s a Charlestonian take on a trinity plan, over two-car garage / storage:

Agreed, having a retreat like that is super-under-rated.
In downtown Raleigh, the Hillsborough Street corridor is tucked between two of the city’s liveliest districts: Glenwood South to the north and the Warehouse District to the south. And now, the focus is shifting to Hillsborough Street itself, where a prime location can lead to premier prices. The street’s transformation has begun as it moves from quaint and somewhat quiet to an area infused with new energy — and massive dollars.
Leading the reinvention are developers flocking to the corridor for its immense opportunities for dense redevelopment. Rezoning requests are piling up with the goal of replacing older buildings. In 2015, there were 46 rezoning cases filed with the City of Raleigh. In 2021, that number jumped to 89. And many of the most ambitious are only footsteps from the State Capitol. Change is coming in the Hillsborough corridor “tweener district” area that bridges the vibrant Glenwood South and Warehouse District.(From Biz Journal Aug 5 2022) https://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2022/08/05/new-raleigh-development-hillsborough-street-rises.html
Vibrancy will continue to shift west from the 'CBD"…and more and more residents come. The spine of development branching off West / Harrington from South to Peace might soon truly be the backbone of morning, noon, night activity. Feels like if all these rezonings proceed, we’re almost to the tipping point for condo builds to kick into gear.
Arby’s to become a giant box!!
CityPlat strikes again. Planning for apartments
Give me 275 units over an Arby’s any day of the week!
EDIT: Give me an Arby’s over a 3-year vacant Arby’s. Thanks CityPlat
They’ll only fully “strike again” after letting doing a bunch of interviews, sitting on the empty site for five years, then selling it to someone who can actually get the money together to build the project.
Car space seems to be more important than living space these days. I’d love to see some townhouses with space for only one car.
“The Arby’s building will remain at the site until construction for the new development breaks ground, likely in about three years. In the meantime, CityPlat is looking for a second-generation restaurant to fill the space.” So 3 years before even breaking ground, meaning by then the site(s) will be worth even more and could probably support even more height/density/mixed-uses, but knowing them, will likely still just go with the same (assumed) boring ass plan they have currently. And who in the hell is gonna sink money into a brand new restaurant in the Arby’s building with a guaranteed move-out date?
Cityplat will never build a thing…they are nothing but a land player. maybe they’ll spend on the rezoning process, siteplan but they don’t seem to be in the habit of building
