when I was your age (lol) they were finishing up the Progress Energy building (current Red Hat), which was the biggest project in over a decade… the pedestrian mall was getting blamed for the “problems” of downtown…artsplosure was the only real festival…there were only like 3 bars in glenwood south, one had beach volleyball…it wasn’t all bad though…there was this hole in the wall bbq joint… and the acorns on the light poles still lit up at night…
