Working on the 5th or 6th floor depending how you count the double height lobby.
Looks like the 7th floor ![]()
Does anyone recall how many stories this structure is supposed to be when it is finished?
20 stories
ASR link below from 2021.
20 stories but the bottom lobby is technically 2 stories in parts (and double height in the rest), and the top floor looks to be double height also. So it’ll look more like 22 stories. Which is cool.
It’s my favorite part of the construction timeline: flying portapotty day. Two at a time even! Magical…
Do they have to do that everytime they are serviced?
Damn. They probably swap out fresh Jons for full ones.
Which means a bathtub of effluent is flying through the air lol
This is gonna fly by… (pun intended).
Will you sign my tshirt?
The tower is at one of the lowest elevations in downtown? Its gonna take a while before it appears over the horizon if you’re in the north facing south.
But if you’re in the south facing the north, it’s going to be very tall
How tall is this one again? It can’t be more than 250.
5 or 6 (or 7) stories. We’ve just been over this! ![]()

It looks to me they are starting on floor 6. I am pretty sure they are counting that massive first floor as just one floor. But hey…who knows…I could be wrong. Photo taken this morning.
Nope you’re correct. I was just being a smartass.
It looks like about 223 feet, to John’s actual question. There’s a parapet wall apparently above the roof and they don’t have a height for that on the plan I’m looking at. So I had to estimate that. The bottom floor that’s double height with that partial mezzanine in the middle is also built into a slope, so from one perspective, the lower half of that floor will be underground (once the project’s finished). Hence why it’s being counted at 1 floor.
The larger 1st floor could have a mezzanine but probably would just be 1M or something on the elevator with the next usable floor being 2.
I think this is one of most significant buildings in a long time downtown Raleigh. It’s adding significant density, but at the walkable downtown edge (subjective of course) extending street activity. I’m really excited to see this building finished and activated!
