Social District Celebration Kickoff

This may not be for everyone but it is a “historic” time for Raleigh. @OakCityKarla and I will be joining.
Sorry if you don’t have Facebook. Below is a description of “what to expect”.
Join us for a celebration of enjoying an adult beverage in public. In Savannah they call drinks to go “Travelers” and in that spirit let’s have a Parade of Travelers. We will start at Crank Arm and then leisurely stroll to The Pour House Music Hall and Record Shop. We have a fantastic New Orleans style second line party band featuring Peter Lamb and George Knott to play along the way. We will hang at The Pour House for a beverage and a little record shopping and then head back to Crank Arm for lunch from the always delicious Corner Boys BBQ!
Ps, hope I don’t get questioned for using “quotes”.

I love that they’re kicking this off at 10:30 on a Monday morning. I mean I like to drink, but that’s a hard sell.
Also saw they have the list of participating businesses now.
Edit: that list is set up in the most awkward way. I’m tempted to put it in an Excel file, clean it up, and send it back to them.

Most meet ups we would attempt to gather and chat about Downtown topics but this event is really more about the grand opening. That said, there are a few of us here if you’re trying to meet up with the group. Look for a black umbrella and a black shirt with a radiation looking symbol on the back and a silly looking guy with a white shirt and blue backpack.

Has any thought been giving to moving meetup out of downtown for this Thursday to avoid the Hopscotch music festival crowds? Just noticed it;s Thur to Sat this weeks.
I’ve moved it as far away from downtown as I could, to Paris. Much better. Feel free to join our exclusive meetup here this Thursday.
