Merry Christmas to all the readers and contributors in The Community! It’s been a pretty solid year over here at DTRaleigh HQ and I think there’s some great things to look forward to in 2026.

Merry Christmas Everyone. Now in some not so Christmas attitude, I would like to say how dull Dorothea Dix park looked tonight with its unlit tree. There were a few people walking around tonight although not too many. Gibson play plaza is new, and we have the trolls now, but I would like to see some kind of festive lights be put in for future years. Don’t take this as me complaining too much. I do really like the park.
I didn’t get photos of Fayetteville St, but there were quite a few people walking around Fayetteville St. tonight. I’ll probably ride around this week and get photos at that time. I do think the lit up trees helped bring people in as well as the Illuminate Art Walk.
Downtown Cary was packed tonight and definitely had a lot of people walking around downtown. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures, but might be able to tomorrow night. I only passed through on my way to Istanbul restaurant. Have to give Cary major props on their downtown. It definitely draws a lot of people in.
