Moore Square

Just to give everybody a reference… The prices were not too bad… Carolina hot dog, fries, and a drink was $9.50. Hot dog was good. Fries were better and the quantity was good. And they give free refills on the drinks.

Pretty ridiculous design flaw, but glad they are addressing it. Hope it is fixed quickly.

2 things I noticed:

  1. As already mentioned, the water feature is already down for improvements
  2. Drainage problems in the side areas that have dirt “floors.” After the rain the other night, there was standing water in these areas well into the next day. The paths have drainage, I don’t know why they didn’t include drainage in these side “rooms”

I noticed that the buildings at the NE corner of Person and Martin across from Moore Square had some fencing up. Is that related to the park or is it a separate development? If so, does anyone know anything about it?

The former Killo Pest Control spot? There’s been fencing up since 2016 (photo below) so maybe that’s what you saw.

I do expect a shakeup at some point across Person Street now that the square is finished.

Just wondering if the burgers are square?

God I can’t wait for that eyesore to go. I don’t care if it’s stick built apartments, but I would prefer obviously a high-rise of some sort

Oh yeah, that was probably it. You can tell I don’t go downtown often.

So anyone got an update on when the water feature will be back up? Or the play area for the kiddos, which is also fenced off? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

My guess is that they’ll be ready the day after the first frost.

Very cute. Thank you!
Is there an adult version? Lol :joy:

I’d suppose that you can probably get a drunk to pee on you after the bars close on any weekend night.

I think that might be more adult than we wanted… Lol!

Just for the weekend w/ the splash pad area though, and back down again for improvements after this weekend:

I wonder what improvements they’d need to do if it’s good enough to open for this weekend, etc?

Also, no eta of completion for the “fix”?

So it’s open tomorrow? Might bring the kids down since it still feels like August.

It’s apparently become a pop up fountain.

Unfortunately our tax dollars were used to build a permanent one.
