This is getting interesting, says a rally will be held at noon today to protest the removal.
Petition is at 1,500 and climbing.

I was just coming to post this. Great to see people rallying around a small thing that is an improvement to the city!

Anyone attend the rally? Iā€™d like to know how that went.
I love Raleighites are rallying in support of fancy trash cans!!!

I saw Andrea interviewing that guy when I walked by. Maybe 20 people out there.

Well, 1 person complained and 20 countered it. If I were the council, Iā€™d look at that ratio and not ignore them.
The petition is still racking up signatures. Itā€™s running like a birth clock. As of now, itā€™s at 1659 with the last two signers having signed 6 and 4 minutes ago.

Apparently the city dropped off a bunch of the old trash cans to the spot this morning

@dtraleigh, slip in a comment at the Kane public hearing about how the city shouldnā€™t ignore 1700 voices vs one complaint for the molok project!

Clearly this pilot test was a great use of our tax dollars. GRRRR

If this was merely a test, maybe it could have been done on NC Stateā€™s campus where NIMBYā€™s wouldnā€™t have been an issue.

This just happened:

Thereā€™s someone with a sign to keep the containers here at the meeting. Waiting for a good opportunity to get a photo.
