It said they have been assembling the parcels of land since 2018, and now have enough to do something bigger apparently. It also says they will need a year for design once the rezoning is approved.
One day we are going to wake up and notice that more of Raleigh has become a city.
Yes, but we will always have Ye Olde Raleigh Village to remind us of the past.
Guessing that this rendering on the New City Design website is the updated rendering for the condo project for 101 Enterprise. UPDATE: It’s not.
If that’s the name for the building they really went all out in coming up with it.
Reminds me of a “new” photo from 1972
Could have been worse; they could have named it 101 Enterprise.
Actually, I really like that name…
101 Enterprise that is…
I think that’s the other condo building getting started in downtown Cary.

I love that the assemblage is a skinny lot, so at 7 stories tall it will actually look more like a tower and not a big fat box! Also, this last line in the article intrigued me, I’m assuming it’s the parking lot behind Player’s Retreat, but could also be that seemingly abandoned short office building next to the old Subway. Last I remember re: the lot behind PR, is that it was to be a 5 story condo building, but I recall that project had been stalled and abandoned. Does anyone have any info on this? " Additionally, TME Investors filed a rezoning request in August to allow for a new hotel, also up to seven stories tall, at the Pullen Drive roundabout near N.C. State"
EDIT: well, funny enough, my copy/paste included a link straight to the Biz Journal article about that hotel proposal!
Yeah this one has been abandoned
That is a pretty great little infill condo building.
4 stories. 28 units. 0.4 acres. Even has parking for all units
This, and the several urban student apartments on Hillsborough, are the sort of infill that we should encourage in residential zones, not just on obviously commercial streets. I’d rather see something like this than a 1:1 teardown on a street like Dixie Trail, Clark, or Fairview - or even my personal stomping ground of Powell Drive.
Too fast for my tastes. I’d like to graduate before I have to move over there.
NCSU’s request to rezone 975.77 acres of Centennial Campus to Campus zoning is appearing before Planning Commission tomorrow morning, and the agenda packet attached with the rezoning request includes some pages from NCSU’s campus master plan. Here’s the 3-D massings of what, very generally, could be built eventually:
Based on concerns with the change, Planning Commission voted to defer the Centennial Campus rezoning to a later date.
What sorts of concerns did they point out?
Apologies for never responding . . . I don’t remember what specific concerns they had, but some people spoke about the usual suspects—height/density, traffic, shadows, etc.
In further news, I wasn’t able to make the meeting, but it looks like it passed Planning Commission yesterday?

The NCSU Bell Tower finally has real bells, which were rung yesterday at commencement:
