Creating a new topic to cover new developments around NCSU’s South Campus and Centennial Campus. Currently there are 2 new apartment complexes underway: Collegeview Student Housing and Varsity Drive Apartments (listed in order below).
I noticed they knocked down the apartments at the corner of Crest and Avent Ferry, and some of the houses nextdoor look abandoned.
There are also at least three houses on avent ferry across from food lion being knocked down.

From NC Modernist: “NC State College of Design Dean Mark Hoversten will step down effective July 1, after a decade of service.” I know we look at downtown for all our inspiration - naturally on a blog devoted to downtown, lol - but Raleigh has an important architectural history, particularly in the post-WW2 era, thanks to the leadership at the college of design. It will interesting to see who comes in, and what, if any, influence they have on city.

As a graduate of said institution, I look forward to who is going to be his replacement.
