@BoringRaleigh , I welcome you to take ownership of this particular board and create open and earnest dialog about the parallels between NIMBYism and xenophobia, which I do think is an interesting topic that can be applied to some scenarios in Raleigh!
Fire…. meet gasoline
Both things are bad and hinder progress. Discussion: solved.
Are we really doing this? 1 hour, get it out of your system and then we’re done.
I think it’s rampant in Raleigh there a very vocal minority that comes from neighborhoods like Boylan Heights, and Oakwood and other neighborhoods. They think they can sound there voice and have opinions on projects outside of there neighborhoods and get it shoot down. You know this comedian Quinn Dale said it best liberals defend people they wouldn’t want to live around and there using minorities as a pawn to defend there xenophobia and Nimbyism. We just have to be louder, we have to operate in elections a like we’re trying to elect a U.S. president, big funding, social media influencers, and gear we have to have PACs we have to outgrow them there a vocal minority I promise you the majority of the city is for big projects like the whitewater center, MLB, Downtown South among others it just Tim Niles and Octavia Rainey are just too loud.
I think I summed it up pretty succinctly, unsure any need for further discourse. NIMBYism: BAD. Xenophobia: BAD. Bingo, bango

Read my comment above I think I have a blueprint to defeat them. I’m telling ya liberals defend people they don’t wanna live around.
All due respect but nah I’m good lmao. This topic is random and unnecessary for what this discussion forum is about (Downtown Raleigh development).
NIMBYism: BAD. Xenophobia: BAD. Badda bing, badda boom.
