Definitely. I typically avoid food trucks nowadays for this exact reason.
For those that have FB, the Downtown Raleigh account has pictures of Ole’.
Counter argument: hit up any of the many taco trucks down Capital Blvd and you will get not only cheap tacos - but some of the best, most delicious and authentic tacos you can find anywhere.

Founded by Roberto, Alejandro, David and Brendan — Olé will feature over 20+ draft beers, signature cocktails, and wine alongside food from up to six multiple food trucks right outside.
Follow along for an opening date in early November.
Which ones would you recommend?
Not Capital Blvd, but check out the parking lot in front of the International Food store on Chapanoke Rd on a Sunday at lunch.
Just to the right of the Hodges / Capital intersection is always a good choice / start….
That’s a lotta damn space for nothing lmao. “What would you like to see?” Idk, a better use of alllllll that space??? Put a few pool tables and/or some ping-pong tables or SOMETHING lmao
There were comments along this line on the post and a reply that ‘more would be coming’ perhaps even including axes….so………..
So…. we’re a nation full of LIARS!
I hope we see this place really lean into being a true sports bar. I was downtown on Tuesday and went to Raleigh Times for dinner and to watch the Canes game, but they only had YouTube TV - so they couldn’t get the FanDuel Sports Network on. Same with Landmark Tavern. I know Incendiary and Burial advertise Canes game watches - and PR is listed online as a designed “Canes Bar’ - but I hate not having a place downtown to draw people in to watch the one local professional team. Have always felt there was a hole in the market for that downtown.
I think the Davie and Woody’s had the game on when I drove by on my way home, but between Raleigh Times, Anchor Bar, Landmark, Le Dive, etc. - would be nice to see them have the game on even if none of them advertise being a sports bar other than the 2nd floor of Times. I know there’s supposed to be a sports bar in the Omni in a few years, but there’s a real opportunity for Ole to do that in the near term even if it’s located more on the outskirts of “downtown proper”.
Brass Tap does a really good job. If you haven’t been you should check it out for a game.
Nice, I’ll have to check it out. I went once for a State football game and liked it, but haven’t been back. Was more so just surprised that I walked past or went into 3 separate bars on Tuesday that had a hockey game on that was on ESPN, but didn’t have the ability to put the Canes game on.
As someone who really enjoys Sam Jones and Vault, I’m excited for Ole. Between this, Benchwarmers, Sunflowers, and Campo (as well as whatever retail that the Weld has yet to announce) - that entire corner of downtown near Dix Park has some interesting spots ready to open in the next few months or so.
I think it’s a wide angle lens, but yeah I had the exact same thought… LOL!
Yeah we know…all the Gen Z kids like inhaling their flavored Chinese chemicals instead of having a beer. Progress!
It just means the rest of us have to drink more to compensate. Support your local bar/alley behind the liquor store!
Let’s hope so. Us people of the Wild West End have been living in the desert for awhile now.
Some of us… I mean some of people just inhale regular ass grass, my man
Less overall harmful than alcohol, less addictive, less stupidity inducing - overall better experience that’s likely just overtaken alcohol as the popular vice amongst the yutes.
Tobacco Road has lots of TVs and I think most games depending on how “obscure” the channel may be.
Yeah and they have ping pong tables… but also pool tables, so watch out. Might be scary.
