It’s interesting to see a Pendo forward downtown core shot.
Or someone was rinsing off the paintbrushes from the next Platform apartments.
So so so so much potential
The seafoam green makes some cameos in the video.
Also, boy is it obvious how much land Heritage Park occupies.
I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn’t it look way better as something actually dense and with urban form? And you know, actually provide housing for the people who need it.
But how else would we kick the can down the road if we didn’t build just enough housing for the people currently there + maybe 5 extra units???
We wouldn’t want to take any parking spaces for people now would we?
Sometimes when there’s heavy rainfall I like to go checkout the Pigeon House branch near the corner of Boylan and Johnson. The water itself is not pretty but I can’t help the feeling that this infrastructure is underutilized. Glad the SmoHo park will incorporate it, but I hope that any redevelopment of this block will do something cool with it too. Huge lack of water features in Raleigh.
Too bad the yacht club don’t have that waterfront…right?
I have never even seen this
Looks like Willie Wonka’s chocolate river.
Indeed.
Where is all the brown coming from? Is there that much dirt on the streets, or is there a construction site not taking care to prevent soil erosion and run off?
It’s not chocolate. It’s poop.
I live next to another creek in the south end of downtown, and the water always looks like this during heavy rain. It’s normally barely trickling and relatively clear, otherwise. Just lots of sediment washing in from upstream, I guess.
Yeah, talk to any riverkeeper ( don’t think Pigeon Branch has one - yet!?!) and they’ll point to those gad’damned developers and their sedimentary lapses, SoBs
I mean, I did say that it was Wonka’s chocolate river. Make of it what you will.
joking aside there’s been so much discussion of downtown raleigh finding a identity… the city that gets around by GONDOLA would fucking slap. expect me to take an extremist pro-gondola stance from this point forward.
