Some Halloween houses in Boylan Heights from my walk today! The one with the one red window is questionably “decorated” but I’m tossing it in anyway. That zoomed in front door also isn’t decorated, but it’s still giving me some eery.
Holy sh!t it almost looks like a city!!! Let me see something…
I like this view point. Is this a view from the Hyatt House opening up?
here’s my artistic rendition of near-future skyline featuring: completed City Hall, the 8-story UNC HQ building, the Nash Apts building, and the Creamery tower
No, but close!
…
…
Creamery is going to look huge from this angle since it sits up on the hill.
Not a great picture (just my dashcam) but I love this stretch of Hillsborough, especially this time of year.
The big glass buildings rising over trees, with old brick storefronts nestled underneath. That’s the dynamic I’d love to see become Raleigh’s overall style.
Forgive me if he’s been mentioned on this thread before, but Matt Robinson (@ metroscenes on Twitter) is a must-follow. This was his shot from today
Seen this angle before but now it’s even MORE dense with that new 5-over-1 on West! And the City Hall crane indicates we’d see the very tippy top of that building peeking up from behind Quorum Center once completed. This angle continues to be one of the most dense and developed views of the city.
Yep! And the Creamery tower is gonna dominate this view eventually. It’ll come up right behind the Paramount and Glenwood towers from this angle.
Is that actually gonna start tho?
The Ark Royal bar posted on their social last weekend was their final day open and implying the new construction is soon. If that means anything
That is good to hear (nothing against them, just in terms of this happening) and makes sense with the added context of Heat moving out.
I had a really great $15 fresh ground chuck burger (8oz) with @GucciLittlePig & @GucciLittlePenguin last night at Raleigh Times. The upgrade to fries from homemade chips was 50 cents. Plus tax and tip, I was out the door for $20 flat. We sat in the window right on the street and enjoyed First Friday outside. No reservation needed @Boltman
I’d love for Raleigh to have more mid-sized brick buildings in the near future
