I appreciate the desire for a really tall building, but personally I would rather the height if the skyline grow incrementally. I find skylines with 1 huge building silly and sad in appearence (looking at you OKC).
I would rather see a 30 story signature building than a 40+ value engineered box towering above everything else.
This is what we are getting. No 600 footers but honestly?… I think this will do it. I agree with the comments that incremental density is better. Looks more natural.

I think it is hard to justify a 600ft building if it is just office. And residential/hotel floors are typically smaller in height, so it requires much more. That being said…I am baffled at how Raleigh does not have hotel/residential combo
I mean, you can always just build a spire or crown on top that could be the last 500’. Have a really big lobby/atrium and then build the rest of the floors around 11.5 feet.

Yes, but the land is zoned for 40-stories now so even if the last proposal we saw is dead… SOMETHING big will eventually come.
