You will get 30 story value engineered boxes instead and you will be HAPPY about it ![]()
301H, 400H, and Charter Square North all had many years of silence and financial uncertainty before they happened. In the case of the latter, we waited a decade. That’s the way it is. A year with no updates does not mean the end.
But it could be that 330 W Hargett and Vela (which I had mentally written off years ago) are goners. Things are bleak in Durham right now. After a flurry of activity we seem to be in a lull where we will have very little to look forward to in the coming years. Being the state capital gives Raleigh some more resiliency during tough economic times.
Now… IMAGINE if zoning is maximized for developments at: the parking lot between Skyhouse and PNC + N&O lot + the former Pendo tower Phase 2 lot, not to mention the other Memorial Aud parking lot… we could really be cooking with gas:
EDIT: I am of course taking some creative liberties with more unique crown designs. I’d anticipate nothing but flat, boring boxes instead but STILL!
This would literally kill every plant in the entire Five Points neighborhood with the amount of 24/7 shadows it would create. Why do you hate plants and neighborhoods, Mike?
some deck-a-tography from 07….i think there were articles in the n and o about the two pronged crown.
Okay, I’ll just say it. The collection of these horribly “decorated” dinosaurs are not worthy of being part of Illuminate art walk. I mean, seriously, just look at this.
Maybe they should go to Dix park with the trolls? By definition, the “Illuminate Art Walk” should have art that lights up. Perhaps the dino is art, but the lame 50 bulb string of lights is pretty sad.
I like the outfit and umbrella tho
The Moto filled in the gap between Smoky Hollow and the Civc tower (formerly Quorum center) perfectly. The Highline will have a similar but more substantial impact on the Glenwood South portion of the skyline and entire skyline, in general.
Well, maybe dinosaurs covered in Astroturf.
The decorating is unspeakably lazy.
Lazy and (beyond) amateur. If I were visiting the city for the holidays and saw these, it would totally sour me on the city’s arts culture.
The old Armadillo Grill site would be a great place to redevelop!
