Pictures and Videos of Downtown Raleigh

I have always thought this was the cutest little church on the corner of Lenior and S Saunders. Just thought I’d share. I’m sure most of you have seen it. It’s a change from the tower post of late

Nice, yes. But too tall, though… I don’t like the shadows on the righthand side…

What right side? I can’t see it through all the darkness.

Here’s a challenging video on DTR that comes from a local realtor. A lot of the topics we talk about here are boiled down in this video in just over 6 minutes.

Your right @John its like she reads this board! I do like how she is clearly hopeful about the direction of downtown.

Dare I say it??? It’s ALMOST looking like a real city!!! Couple more gaps to fill, a liiiiiiittle more density and overlap, and voila: we have a legit skyline.

IF they ever get around to building the Nash Sq apartment/condo tower, even at the reduced 25-story height, it will start to fill the gap between fka Wells Fargo and PNC towers from the Dix Park angle you shared.

If you want to know what a local realtors are saying about downtown, then watch this. With “friends” and boosters like these, who needs enemies?
You don’t need to watch the whole thing. They jump right into laughing and trashing downtown on the front end of the video.

These are 2 of the dumbest people I’ve ever heard speak. Why on earth would anyone listen to them, much less care what they think?

I find it funny that the guy states he’s a business owner in downtown Raleigh but then is trashing it…wouldn’t he want to talk about the benefits so that more people come downtown and therefore visit his business?

Stealing this from the Highline thread (and thanks to @OakCityDrone for the pics) – what is the building poking up in the distance of the top left corner. Beyond the Village District. Is that DHHS?

Think that is Berkshire in the Village District. Apartments over ground-floor retail located in the NE quadrant of the Oberlin/Clark intersection.

They’re talking about the building much further in the distance, it’s DHHS
