I think that’s new. I’ll have to fly in for a closer look.
Okay, color me jealous…

cannot wait to see this view after RUSbus, new City Hall block, and Nexus block is all built out.
Nice picture of downtown! The banner looks like Morse Code.

Photo is too big so I had to lower the quality
that is a cool shot.
Was this yesterday (Thurs)? If so, what time were you there?? I might have ran right by you.
Yes, Thursday. Was there from 5:15 to 7:45. Also biked there/home so depending on your route we could have passed then as well.
I was definitely nearby, was probably around that area between 5:30-7ish!!! Probably ran right past you. Small city!
Honestly, if Raleigh had 100 20 story buildings in Downtown I’d be completely fine with that.
Agreed, more 20-30 story buildings would be fantastic to increase density. Adding to that, a couple (3-4) signature 600+ footers with iconic designs would be perfect to create a dynamic, visually interesting skyline.
In general I agree and am usually fine with 20 story buildings as opposed to huge towers (as long as they have good ground floor activation).
The exception is the Nexus proposal on the News & Observer site. I would just really, really like that one to go tall. Seems like the perfect location for one of the city’s tallest. It would fill in the north-south “gap” while expanding the skyline to the west and would be such a great juxtaposition with Nash Square. I like the density of the multiple towers in the proposal, but would love it to be taller.
100% Agree. I would also add the Enterprise/adjoining lot in that. The current 10 story, prison-like designed hotel that’s planned for the Enterprise lot is a travesty. Those lots demand something tall.
