Almost that whole block is owned by some developer partnership between (I think) York Properties and another group.
Edit: well maybe I dunno. Thought I remember a 12 story building proposed there by York maybe like 10 years ago?

Every time I drive by I can’t help but picture this:
Is this building going to win any designs awards? Probably not. Is there a ton of natural light inside and with big windows? No, but it’s completely different than the current office building trend of the past decade which is basically just curved glass.

Been looking to find DTR views that feel weighty and make the city appear substantial. Driving north on McDowell and the view from Boylan Bridge are classics. I also enjoy the views looking east from a high-up point on NC State campus or Cameron Village.
This picture only captures some of another view I like. If you cut across the parking lot from the Lenoir Blount intersection, you get a wall of buildings.

A few years ago Matt Robinson’s Raleigh Skyline site had a drone shot of downtown from above Chavis Park. From the SE facing the NW. From that view, DT Raleigh looks like a major urban center. And I believe it was taken before the FNB Tower went up.
