I’d love for them to renovate/reconfigure the renaissance hotel and possibly increase the amount of stories from 10 to 15. Either that or build another hotel near the main district, I feel like we need more hotel rooms in NH, just like we do in downtown.
A lot of that is built over the parking deck. I wonder if he planned ahead and beefed up the parking structure to be able to handle bigger buildings over it.
Midtown Exchange needs a better southern entryway because it’s very well hidden when you try to find it when coming from the south. You’d never know it was there but the view will change eventually once the first few buildings are built.
Thanks for these awesome pictures!
You’re welcome! Does anyone know if Kane already owns the land along Six Forks thats been rezoned for 40 stories?
Edit* That may have been a stupid question, but I hadn’t heard about them buying the gas station property.
Yep, Kane owns the gas station.
Take this for what you will but, according to the Cary mayor, it looks like South Hills mall has been purchased. He doesn’t say who yet but says it’ll be announced in a couple of weeks. I feel that area has been the same looking my entire life and would be ripe for any sort of development.
We also spent time talking about the Eastern Gateway. The Fenton is on schedule and should be opening in April. The South Hills mall should be sold, and the new owners announced in the next couple of weeks. We look forward to working with the new owners on an iconic development.
We were JUST over there this past weekend and I was thinking that area can’t stay that way forever. The location is too good for car dwellers.
Perfect spot for an Ike…nvm
I know for a fact kane was definitely looking at this property, but who knows who purchased it Maybe the Dude from Epic Games purchased it and will convert it into a Forest lol.
You would have to think if (insert big money property developer) bought it then some of the perimeter stuff probably has their days numbered. Specifically looking at you Motel 6…
Further details on the Durham (I-40 at 540) Top Golf from TBJ
102 bays
“Marketing materials from 2019 showed plans for two hotels, a 40,000-square-foot fitness facility, 150,000 square feet of office space, a restaurant, gas station with a Sheetz logo and a facility with an iFly Indoor Skydiving logo.”
I-40 at 540. That’s barely in Durham County, it’s like dead center of the Triangle. Finally get an indoor skydiving center at least. We should get one closer to DTR though.
Yea I don’t think it’s even City of Durham incorporated area.
Edit: it is but still, right on the edge.
For reference 14 miles from DTR. 10 From DTD but right in the heart of RTP and busiest interchange in the Triangle.
That’s all Morrisville to me.
I would really love to see one of these new towers include some recreation facilities like a skydiving center or rock climbing wall with the development. Add in a basketball court, gym and a pool and you’d have the full suite!
Wasn’t able to get a picture, but the crane at The Walter looks like it’s dismantling itself, does anybody know if that’s true
I drive by that location in 1 hour, I’ll take a picture.
I may go by there this morning. I was just thinking yesterday that it must be coming down soon.
