Raleigh-area Mall / Life-Style Center / RTP Redevelopments

The lot across the street just west of Coastal Credit building has just been cleared as well. I know there was discussion of what might be going there a while back but I don’t recall the details.

I wonder whatever happened to Coastal’s new HQ tower just down the street.

I thin it’s some sort of condos / retirement community.

The official height of the Eastern on Wikipedia is wrong? Does anyone have the building permit details to review the height?

Now way it’s 462 feet. Who got that number?

I believe the accurate height is 397 I saw it on the plans I think

It doesn’t even look that tall, but it’s certainly not 462.

Bonus kudos for the stage shot! It’s a solid little setup.

Thank you! The crowd was surprisingly diverse and exuberant. For fun, here’s another during our encore.

A picture (not mine) of the progress of the Publix being put in at Ellis Crossing (near RTP). This is apparently from last weekend.

Right across the street from my work. This is the view I have leaving work. Interestingly, the restaurant It’s A Southern Thing from downtown Durham is putting another location just to the left of the Publix. Excited for that. And the Publix.

Wonder how much longer it’s gonna take to actually open. Probably unrealistic to expect it any time this year.

Someone in the r/publix saying it should take 8-12 months after construction starts: https://www.reddit.com/r/publix/comments/qum31b/how_long_does_it_take_to_build_a_brand_new_store/

Do you recall when they started building @GucciLittlePig?

That’s the million dollar question. I thought it would’ve been open by now, but it only started coming out of the ground maybe 2 months ago?

First location Durm, Second location Napierville, Third location Publixville.

I also work in the same complex as @GucciLittlePig (but I’ve spent more time in the office than Jeff since then). I agree, it hasn’t been long since it has come out of the ground. Trying to recall from memory by back tracking…

The land had been cleared and was being prepped/had been prepped for construction when we moved into the facility across the street (October/November 2021). I would say it’s only been since December/January that construction really started (in terms of seeing piping/cinder blocks/steel/wood).

This obviously isn’t accurate, but I’ve done some estimating, and based on some proposals, this is what downtown could look like if developers choose to develop to 40-stories. Of course, some of it is just estimates, others just being proposals but it’s interesting thinking about this. Appears city is back on for the RCC towers opening in 2028 instead of the delayed 2030 timeframe provided during Covid.

Emporis lists it as 462.24 feet high, but we will not officially know as the city doesn’t record physical height. https://www.emporis.com/buildings/1442954/the-eastern-residences-raleigh-nc-usa

Nice work, but can you adjust the two towers on the right to be more like the ones on the left and re-post it? That’s a more likely representation.

The ones on the right are just cutouts of the actual rendering. I really just pasted all the others into this picture.
