Raleigh-area Mall / Life-Style Center / RTP Redevelopments

22 story and 27 story tower on a parking platform. Platform and smaller tower being built first.

Between Advance Auto Tower, Park Central, and Midtown Plaza buildings:

Just the US70/Glenwood Ave corridor has almost the same amount of office space as downtown Raleigh. Start adding Six Forks and West Raleigh almost triple the amount.

This is new also did they reduce the scope of the towers? It’s now just two 22 story towers?

I found a newer version of this. Seems like it was hastily updated but I like it!

Superb design and renderings.

Why have they left that prime lot in the middle of the “Park District” undeveloped for so long? Feels like it would have been one of the first ones to go up.

I kinda hope they turn that into a park / plaza area. Could even have a large screen on one of the adjacent buildings to show big games, etc. Something about the “Park District” needs more park space.

Have a feeling that’s going to be the lot for Kanes signature tower to complete that part of North Hills.

There is a ‘park’ down by the Mexican place. But several years ago they replace the grass with astroturf.…

True true true true. And I’ve played with my kids there tons of times. Just seems pretty minimal and small for something called the “Park District”.

I think they’re trying to lure a big luxury hotelier because the original plan was for it to be another hotel.

You think so? I think I tend to agree with @trueurbanist here and could see a luxury hotel there. Maybe I’m interpreting ‘signature tower’ to be something taller and more grand-er than The Eastern and I feel The Eastern’s height/presence is going to block most things right next to it. But again, it would be next door to a Hyatt House hotel so who honestly knows.

Noticed in the NH presentation that the two new restaurants pegged for the Main District – Limani and Village Tavern – are both enormous, over 12k and 7k sq ft. The Restoration Hardware building is listed at 50k sq ft and its restaurant is bound to be a fair portion of that too. Interesting to see how they use the spaces.

LMFOA - WTF is an ‘upscale, casual restaurant’?

How can it be both?

It’s basically me. I’m upscale but casual.

In an ideal world, it means great food at elevated prices, but you don’t feel like you’ve committed a big faux-pas for wearing a polo shirt or a button-down instead of a blazer.

Patagonia instead of Ferragamo.

The vacant lot on the park side right now is a little park. Well dog park/parking lot/picnic table area. Temporary but seems like it will stay that way for a while

I think this is my favorite picture from the whole presentation (viewing on a big monitor instead of my phone for once). If this ever gets executed like this, it’ll be quite the place.
