Thanks for the reminder. I will go and buy a tix today.
Cerqueira is a no brainer over Jones right?
Correct, that’s who I will be voting for
I went to @JonathanMelton 's event yesterday early evening. It was a nice event! I took a yard sign and put it in front of my building in the public right of way.
MAB unfiltered was there and spoke on Jonathan’s behalf about the collective need to keep supporting him! (like I know we all do)
Oh boy what did she say, anything juicy?
I also support Jonathan Melton and I have a yard sign in my front yard.
What are your guys thought on a second at large in addition to J Melton? I looked at the various candidates platforms and was not impressed.
I’m just voting for him twice.
I will say that’s a good one that gave me a good laugh. I will do the same!
MAB was saying Stormie at Jonathan’s event the other night (if I’m remembering correctly).
Stormie has represented the city well this cycle…That’s my second vote in the hopes there’s continued momentum ahead.
Yeah, also sticking with the Melton/Forte pair since they’ve been consistently good on issues I care the most. Same reason I’ll stick with Branch for Dist C.
I think it’s really gonna be those Jones (E) & Black (A) seats that’ll ultimately make the main difference in where council moves in the coming term.
(Assuming that Cowell gets the mayor seat which is looking kinda likely.)
MAB was saying Stormie… what?? Doesn’t like vinegar based BBQ? Roots for the away team at Canes games?? Is a gasp Tarheels fan???
I am voting Stormie because I do not want Reeves. He seems to be putting in a big ground game on door knocking. But when he was on planning committee he tweeted about how missing middle was a trickle down plan that sounded like it came from Trump… Meanwhile Trump is saying that the Dems are coming for your single family neighborhoods (so Trump actually hates missing middle lol). Don’t need this crazyness on council imo. He also led a charge in planning commission to not rezone anything near New Bern BRT.
Yeah, I worry about Reeves because I see his signs EVERYWHERE. In a presidential election year, we are going to see much more turnout than in the past city elections, and there will be many folks who will be in the voting booth with no clue who to vote for council. That’s when they’ll see his name and remember seeing all of his signs all over the place. That sort of stuff matters big time when we are talking about the volume of folks voting.
I’m all for keeping our at-large candidates in place. Melton/Stormie FTW!
