I just wanted to let folks know that Brittany Bryan, who is challenging Kay Crowder in District D, is having her kickoff event tomorrow night at Halcyon on Glenwood South at 5:30.
(Full disclosure: I will be there helping Brittany and her campaign as a volunteer.)
District D is southwest Raleigh and parts of DTR, mainly. If you’re interested in coming out to meet Brittany and talk with her, I would love to see you there!
I have a work thing directly after work, but I’ll be downtown for First Friday after that. Regardless, if you’re willing to volunteer for her and she’s running against Crowder, she’s got my vote. That’s my district too!
Ongoing update of candidates with notes. Use the bookmark feature of the platform so you can jump back to this. I’ll try to add more throughout the day but please let me know who I’m missing.
Reminder, District D candidate Brittany is kicking off her campaign at 5:30 at the new Halcyon at 517 W Jones St. I’ve talked to her before and it seems she’s pro responsible development and density. Hope to meet some of you fine folks there!
If anyone lives in David Cox’s District B (as I do) and you want to see him booted out (and I definitely do), you’ll be encouraged by the platform of his opponent Brian Fitzsimmons. Even if you live in another district, he’s worth learning about. https://brianfitznc.com/
Does anyone have any input about Caroline Sullivan? Of all the mayoral candidates, she’s the one I know least before (because she hasn’t run for a Raleigh position before - I usually don’t pay as much attention to the Wake County races as a whole)
I’m sure they’re both lovely people, but I sure hope one of them drops out before the election so that whoever remains can capture all the anti-Crowder vote. I know there’s a runoff system in place if no candidate gets 50%, but it would be nice to have support coalesce behind either Martin or Bryan prior to election day.
