Raleigh Elections and Council Overall

I just wanted to let folks know that Brittany Bryan, who is challenging Kay Crowder in District D, is having her kickoff event tomorrow night at Halcyon on Glenwood South at 5:30.

(Full disclosure: I will be there helping Brittany and her campaign as a volunteer.)

District D is southwest Raleigh and parts of DTR, mainly. If you’re interested in coming out to meet Brittany and talk with her, I would love to see you there!

I have a work thing directly after work, but I’ll be downtown for First Friday after that. Regardless, if you’re willing to volunteer for her and she’s running against Crowder, she’s got my vote. That’s my district too!

I think there are a number of us in this forum that will help you make signs for District D. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

May see you there. Would be good to put a face with the name given I’m always out of town during the meet ups. :frowning:

In case anyone doesn’t know their district, here’s a PDF (1.85mb) map.

Reminder, District D candidate Brittany is kicking off her campaign at 5:30 at the new Halcyon at 517 W Jones St. I’ve talked to her before and it seems she’s pro responsible development and density. Hope to meet some of you fine folks there!

Given that I live in at the very edge of District C my vote doesn’t matter much for obvious reasons. At least I can vote against Russ Stephenson.

If anyone lives in David Cox’s District B (as I do) and you want to see him booted out (and I definitely do), you’ll be encouraged by the platform of his opponent Brian Fitzsimmons. Even if you live in another district, he’s worth learning about. https://brianfitznc.com/

Looks like I am in district A (hangs my head in shame)

Another great candidate is Saige Martin, deserves a look.

Does anyone have any input about Caroline Sullivan? Of all the mayoral candidates, she’s the one I know least before (because she hasn’t run for a Raleigh position before - I usually don’t pay as much attention to the Wake County races as a whole)

You and me both.

Don’t know much about Saige Martin or Brittany Bryan but one of them will be getting my vote.

Does anybody care to give opinions on Corey Branch and how he usually votes?

Don’t forget the “at large” seats!

I’m sure they’re both lovely people, but I sure hope one of them drops out before the election so that whoever remains can capture all the anti-Crowder vote. I know there’s a runoff system in place if no candidate gets 50%, but it would be nice to have support coalesce behind either Martin or Bryan prior to election day.
