She’s the big cheese.
Look at that cheesy smile on her face.
I wonder if she is going to cut the cheese.
From what I’m learning about her, if there’s a contest, then it’s likely she will.
That’s very Gouda for her!
German article giving their readers some information about this new ‘better Silicon Valley’ that is winning over German companies. Love how Durham is basically a footnote in the conversation.
While generally positive, I found the article sort of desperate to confirm a variety of stereotypes of the South and America for its German readers, and it painted a picture of Raleigh’s tech scene as if it happened in just the last few years: never mind the founding of RTP back in the 1950s & NC State’s role in that.
Picturing all of us wearing seersucker suits with no socks is a lot more entertaining of a storyline than software developers writing lines of code from a coffee shop…
I do declare! Pass my mint julep please.
An ABC11 headline about the pest company advertisement in Raleigh that would pay you to release 100 cockroaches in your house was featured in the trivia section of Morning Brew today.
That was the lie… the company wanted to release 2000 cockroaches in someone’s home
Raleigh’s own Olympic gold medalist, Randolph Ross, just qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Oregon later this month in the 400m and 4x400m relay.
Also, and I meant to post this earlier, Raleigh’s own Olympic silver medalist, Claire Curzan, won two gold medals (4x100m medley relay and 4x100m mixed medley relay) and three bronze medals (100m backstroke, 4x100m freestyle relay, and 4x100m mixed freestyle relay) in last week’s World Aquatics Championships.
It’s been a very successful week for our local athletes!
I don’t remember his name, but another local swimmer (from Cary) who attends NC State also won gold at that aquatics championship.
Justin Ress. He actually won two golds, one in the 50m backstroke, and one in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
This was his first World Championships or Olympics (the 50m backstroke isn’t an Olympic event), so it’s got to be cool to go to your first ever World Championships and come home with two golds.
Not bad, coming in #14. Highest rated place in North Carolina on the list too.
We’re 5th among cities that anchor their metro area, after Madison, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, and Pittsburgh.
A lot of those cities at the top have long, cold winters. This would rule them out for me but different strokes for different folks I guess.
True, but here we have long oppressively hot summers…
I know all these lists are subjective as heck but interesting they didn’t include our ‘competitor’ cities like Austin, Nashville, Charlotte, Tampa, etc.
