Raleigh Stadium/Arena/Sports Discussions

I was there, It was amazing. Great crowd for an arena show.

People came to Raleigh from far and wide to see this. I talked to a guy in the beer line who came up from Jacksonville FL, and there was a guy next to me in the pit from outside Asheville who was there with a friend who flew from Denver. We even had a celebrity here- whoā€™s apparently been at every show on the tour (photo from a friend on Facebook):

Has anything ever been announced for the gravel lot next to the parking deck and Red Hat? In @bnsy17 's picture it would be SW of the RCC. Always thought it was an eyesore when coming into DTR after seeing the moneyshot.

The city recently expressed that they wouldnā€™t want to get rid of red hat even when The Valley Is completed

Iā€™m not gonna lie, I would lose my mind for a Guy Fieri restaurant in Raleigh. I couldnā€™t help but wonder where he ended up eating while he was in town- I could see him hopping around to try a couple different local BBQ joints.

I will take any excuse to post Pete Wellsā€™ incredible review of Guy Fieriā€™s Times Square restaurant: Restaurant Review: Guyā€™s American Kitchen & Bar in Times Square - The New York Times

Perhaps the most meta food critique in historyā€¦

Hmm interesting might as well buy out those other buildings next to it.

I was more wondering what would get covered if Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives visited the Triangle; theyā€™ve done Charlotte, the Outerbanks, and Wilmington before. Roast Grill would be a must, perhaps also Big Edā€™s and Gym Tacos, maybe also CharGrill.

If the food shows play their production costs onto the establishment kinda like the home renovations shows do, Iā€™m kinda glad no one here in the Triangle has fallen for the gambit.
If youā€™re simply talking about merit, then I agree - itā€™s strange that heā€™s flown through town but never put any of the myriad spots that would fit the MO of the show on camera.

i think there is also a top notch tennis facility also in the works from some months back?

Curious why this was flagged. This was indeed the incident that Rage highlighted during ā€œKilling In the Nameā€

What is this PNC Arena Amphitheater youā€™re talking about? I havenā€™t heard anything about thisā€¦

It was mentioned by the centennial authority a few weeks back. Currently just one of many proposals but could come to fruition

Canes apparently have team-branded Pepsi called ā€œCat5ā€ coming soon

Can they just make the stick-and-flags the primary logo? Itā€™s so cool looking.

I think the plan is for the alternate jersey to become the home jersey and the stadium series jersey would become the alternate

100% agree - from the moment I moved here and learned we had an NHL team, I thought the ā€œhurricaneā€ logo looked corny and amateurish. Then when I saw the hockey stick/hurricane-warning flag designs I had the exact opposite reaction. WAY cooler.

Agreed! I really the hockey stick and flags logo and that jersey. By far the best looking thing they have going. Would be great to see that become the primary. Iā€™ve even thought about buying a jersey, but they really charge an arm and a leg for them.

I donā€™t love the stadium series jersey or the current main jersey. I just donā€™t care for that logo. Current white road unis are okay, but not great IMO.
