Here are the final 3 games of the season :
UNC has been the final game for more than a decade.
Yup. Gorgeous weather, too, and BC is godawful this year. It should be a near-sellout, but a relaxed vibe.
Yes, Stateâs all time best home winning streak is 16 in a row. Theyâve done that a couple times I believe and if they win tomorrow itâll be #17 in a row at home for the first time ever.
This one goes into more detail about it.
Didnât know if this one should have been in the Stadium thread (or other cities one) so feel free to move. NYCFC of the MLS is finally building a stadium and what theyâre going to build sounds a lot like what DTS hopes to be. Itâll be a 25k seater stadium anchoring a district in Queens with 2,500 affordable housing units, a hotel, and a school with all of this. Theyâve been playing their games on the New York Yankees field (and random other places) since their inception into the league in 2015.
Interestingly it says this whole stadium will be âprivately financedâ while they (New York state government) just signed off on giving the Bills $850 million for their new stadium.
Sees like downtown south is getting the amphitheater and some office buildings. Hope the stadium eventually comes for some soccer and maybe even a SBC/AAC bowl game or something.
Waking up today in the afterglow. Go Wolfpack!
Imo, they need to completely scrap that dumb MLS stadium all together and let Dundon build a new Canes arena there. just a thought
Meanwhile charlotte usa intends to host an outdoor game for a minor league hockey teamâŚguess where!!! DowntownâŚuh, i mean uptown
While back in RaleighâŚwe canât get a single sports facility downtownâŚ& continue to burn cycles on an illusion that somehow the State of NC & NC State are going to somehow give or even sell property to Dundon to develop the parking lotâŚ
âŚI mean theyâre doing that because they want their own version of Raleigh hosting the NHL Stadium Series. Which is the big prize.
Yeah the stadium need to attract an MLB team. Or become multipurpose to attract a baseball team or soccer team, just a place for a minor team doesnât work.
We need to more meaning to them. Iâm sick of Malik not opening his mind. Iâm sick of that we donât have a downtown arena. I believe itâs because of the struggle to getting out of car-dependency. I believe there was a survey on it but there no space downtown either.
Iâm curious whatâs the purpose of posting about how we âneed to attract MLBâ and/or âwe should move PNC/Hurricanes arena downtownâ every couple of weeks? Unless thereâs actual concrete news of either of these things happening⌠just kinda feels like beating the long-ago-rotted out, now broken-to-pieces skeleton of a dead horse.
BizJournal stirred the pot recently hinting that the Canes owner is still undecided about âthingsâ.
âŚso no concrete news or even an inkling of this being a possibility, currently LMAO
Much more dense cities donât seem to have a problem finding spaceâŚweâre just not trying hard enough. There is definitely space.
Then San Antonio being an hour away. Yes with NBA, and MLB and NFL in Dallas. And NHL in there also Austin pretty much a secondary NFC Market. Austin all they could get was MLS regardless of FC Dallas.
The same could be done with MLB to Raleigh Downtown South figuring out how to build a stadium for a 2nd-tee team and poorly growing female sports association plagued with problems and scandals where they could put all that energy to a Major League Baseball team. It would alleviate any problem of a placing a new sports field.
I was just there 24-hours ago, that there only team and theyâre a small market. And then besting the cowboys was a big deal to there leading off all there newscasts locally. And theyâre just I donât know if there area is suited for a second one.
I really think Raleigh should utilize PNC Arena renovation as a leverage for another league. There is only select leagues, but that opens doors for NBA relocation/Expansion, NLL, WNBA, etc.
