This is just a rendering of The Battery in Atlanta. Somebody just replaced the Braves’s Stadium with PNC Arena.
But hopefully the development around PNC will look similar!

Well dang. If I knew how to post gifs in here, I’d do one of Homer going “Doh!” Anyways, this is cool looking and would probably do really well. I’d love to see it.
I think they’re pretty dumb to word their post in such a way that doesn’t immediately relay that this is THEIR made-up graphic of “what could be” - for my money, “EXCLUSIVE LOOK” should be reserved for, you know, a “look” at something actually real lmao
Even as a concept, it will be great to have somewhere to hang out before and after games/events. Usually, after the Canes games, I walk to Backyard Bistro to wait out traffic and have a couple beers. If they are closed, the only other option is the hotel bar. I have talked fan visiting from other teams and they are disappointed there isn’t anything close by to do.
I usually go to Bru’s after Canes/State games. Bonus, the parking around there is easy and free.
As a UNC grad, I am loving these redevelopment plans
Good lord, I just spent several minutes trying to figure out where this view is from based on the streets, but the lack of Carter-Finley really threw me off.
Pretty shitty move for them to push out this rendering.
Yeah. Unfortunately that’s the level of journalism these days. Journalists see something online, take it, and run a story with it. Even if the content isn’t validated.
I’m familiar with this hack.
I’m guessing that you’d like State’s game day experience to be as horrible as Carolina’s.
Swing Racquet and Paddle finally broke ground this week. Targeting a 2026 completion.
World’s “largest racket” complex with 70 courts. Sounds like a big deal! Here is the N&O’s story

Here is the club’s youtube video:
I really hope during the time frame PNC is getting renovated (and they better go with the L exterior option), that they replace the seats at Carter-Finley. Replace them with actual seat backs because the scattered seay cushions look terrible. You will lose seats, but more grandstands could be added. You could close the bowl on scoreboard end (move board on top Wendell), add seats in the corners, or add a third grand stand on the one side. I actually really think the corners would look cool so I just drew red boxes where they’d go
Without expansion, there will never be a replacement of the stands with individual seats because NC State actually has demand for tickets.
I went to the game Thursday night and the stadium has new portable bleacher sets that are mesh with a flex back support. From what I am hearing, people hate them. They look nice but after sitting on one after the game, I wouldn’t want one! Needless to say, I just sit on the bleachers and am fine with that.
I am a long time season ticket (LTR) holder. I had the old seat backs and now the new ones. I like the new ones. They are comfortable and have good air flow.
TBJ reporting the development around PNC is taking the next step. A lawyer for Pacific Elm/Tom Dundon filed a meeting notice for 1400 Edwards Mill Road, the address of the arena. The plan is to go from commercial mixed-use up to 12 stories to a planned development.
The first phase will have more than 200,000 square feet of retail, a 150-room hotel, more than 500 apartments and 150,000 square feet of office space. Ten percent of the apartments will be made available to those making 80 percent of the area median income.
Construction is anticipated to start in winter 2025 with completion of Phase 1 in 2030.

I wasn’t sure whether to put this here or in the Blue Ridge thread.
Meeting is Sept 11, 7-8 at Crabtree Marriott.
For the people like me that care about the canes too much, looks like the new NHL game leaked the new PNC Arena name:
