Just posted by the N&O, the new architecture firm seems to have delivered. We’ll see what fits in the budget though:

L is definitely the W, here.
I prefer the “L” option due to the covered entrance, particularly because I’ve experienced waiting in line outside the arena in the rain before a game, which was quite unpleasant…
L reminds me of the way T-Mobile Arena in Vegas is set up.
This seems not as good as the previous proposals? Just looks like recladding? No more rooftop bar / restaraunt spaces facing the south plaza? This is worth $300M??
Although I’m less interested in this than the surrounding developments though. If they think this is worth it, then whatever.
Not to be a traffic NIMBY, because I absolutely support anything they want to do to improve this, but I live right here and hope they figure out traffic stuff because it’s already a cluster on event days. A bunch more apartments and retail/restaurants will add to that substantially
Here’s a full document on the proposed PNC Arena changes.
I’m not sure the pre-security experience will be any different under any of these scenarios as I think you’ll still be in the rain before hitting the doors. Security will be right there at the doors causing a queue outside. Could be wrong on how that flow will work though.
Regardless, these parts of that presentation represent the enormous difference in how attendees will feel entering the building. The L grand entrance has the “wow, we’re here” feeling with the massive open space.
The L looks very similar to what Birmingham did with their Legacy Arena redevelopment opening it up. They only did it on one portion vs across the whole building though.
Oh no. If I never hear that godawful song again that’ll be too soon.
Ahhhh’Murica, where our ‘popular’ culture convinces… ( …seduces, brainwashes…?) some ‘majority’ of people to favor the absolute worst things…and these are the exports we get ‘credit’ for internationally. Thankful for the freedom to say ‘oh hell no’ to most of this crap.
Aht aht, don’t do it . She has better Christmas songs. One Child, Oh Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus, Oh Santa, Jesus Born on This Day

Oooo…aaahh in my best Penguins of Madagascar impression…. just enough density not to make it look like an island separate from downtown.
Someone overlaid a Battery rendering around PNC Arena. The image is irrelevant.
One upping the State fans mad about losing their parking spots by bulldozing Carter Finley for apartments.
I was like. What happened to Carter Finley? But yeah these are just fake renderings
Seen on the Downtown Raleigh Facebook page.
EXCLUSIVE LOOK – The $300M renovation of PNC Arena also comes with a $1B investment by the Carolina Hurricanes to build out a mega-Mixed Used District.
The district will feature a variety of entertainment, restaurant, retail, hotel, apartments, and office alongside multiple parks, plazas and promenades.
Spanning across 80 acres, Phase 1 starts in 2025. Designs are not released yet, but insiders tell us it will be modeled after The Battery in Atlanta. A superimposed rendering on what that could look like.
Phase 1 Highlights:
20 acres around PNC Arena will be developed first
Over 350,000 sqft of entertainment, retail, and office space
4,300-seat indoor music/entertainment venue
150-key hotel and 500 apartments
New parking decks not taller than 3 levels
A dedicated 5-acre tailgating area near Carter-Finley Stadium
Carter-Finley and NC State Fairgrounds are not part of the district.
