It will almost certainly not be named Raleigh. Don’t get me wrong, if I got to name the team it’d be Raleigh, but the exact thing we’re talking about above (lack of unity) makes it impossible.

The harsh truth that some folks just cannot admit is that “Raleigh” simply DOES NOT have the name recognition as “Carolina” or even “Charlotte” for that matter. It was never not gonna be “Carolina” if they put the team here, and that’s COMPLETELY fine. We’re the Capital of Carolina, after all

Secondary desire, team name contains Raleigh.

it’s a vicious loop. You can’t be named Raleigh because we don’t have name recognition. We can’t get name recognition because the team won’t be named Raleigh.
but if all the good north carolina teams are in raleigh, well

Well, someone has registered the domain carolinacopperheads.com. but not raleighcopperheads.com. Reminds me of the local attorney who registered the name Carolina Hurricanes with the NC Secretary of State right before they announced the move to Raleigh: Lawyer Claims Ownership of Hurricane's Name
